I think it's more likely. The homeless person has nothing so he/she might be so desperate to get food that robbing might be option.

This thread brings up an interesting dilemma about strangers. It's all up to chance to be honest.

And I'm not saying that what is said about homeless people in this thread is wrong or false. But damn, it must suck for the other half of homeless people who are actually nice people who would be happy to receive any form of help. Ponder on that.

The homeless around here are generally either crazy or jerks. The ones who aren't crazy are generally demanding and unpleasant. They'll yell at you if you don't give them anything or enough and I've had to run some of them out of the Farmers Market I work at because they'd wander the halls and accost people for money and vendors for food.

So in the 'no good deed goes unpunished' department, I got a call from the fraud detection center today. A $100 charge had been made across state lines. I cancelled the card and I think they froze that charge. But it still sucks this reaffirms the stereotype that you can't trust the most marginalized members of our society. Unless I'm jumping to conclusions myself, and someone else got my card and this is just coincidental timing.

Nope. Just cancelled my card, signed an affidavit at the bank affirming I didn't make the fraudulent charge, got the money back and got a new card. Honestly I had almost forgotten this entire episode.

I agree on both accounts. I learned my lesson. I didn't feel guilty afterwards, because I knew my intent was good. I was just very naive and inebriated.

I once rang out a homeless man at the supermarket I worked at. When he opened his wallet I noticed it was absolutely packed with dollar bills. Way more than I ever expected. Granted it was probably his entire financial worth but it was still eye opening.
