My grade school did that, in spite of it being based on a fallacy. People thought that leaving windows closed would make a building explode. Seriously. At a school.

No. The tornado hit without warning. All we had that day was a severe thunderstorm watch/warning.

I'm in the same situation, DreamMaster. I live in northeast Kansas, and am pretty much desensitized to sirens going off at this point (though that's partially because they get a test run every week).

Same here. Our town does a test every Saturday at noon.

Glad to hear your alright. La nina is messing up weather bad this year. We never get tornadoes where I am at and we had one tear through my neighboring town and various other towns in the local area. Not to mention Raliegh was slammed a few weeks back. To everyone effected my thoughts go out to you.
