New Mutants I feel terrible for Josh Boone and the entire New Mutants Cast and Crew!

Marvel and Disney could be more successful making films that they had a say on and stamp of approval from the get go. This movie didn't have their stamp of approval. And this isn't like Avatar or some successful Fox franchise, Disney already has a division that specializes on Marvel films and iger made it clear that Deadpool, X-Men and Fantastic Four will be integrated into the MCU. Even if this quadruple its production budget Disney will do what's best for Marvel Studios . they might not get a "potential" 500 million grossing New Mutants Two, but they have so many properties that can do as well as a New Mutants Sequel.

Smh. You just...

That 18 months of review is mostly a formality; I don't believe that FCC will block the sale in the end, and both companies have already knew the hurdles and did their homework before they announce this deal. And Disney would have to pay Fox 2.5B if this sale doesn't go through so for them to go through this phase means that they're very confident of the deal's approval.

As for New Mutants, I don't expect Disney to let it have a sequel unless it has a Deadpool-esque success *and* not tied to Singerverse. Even so, I think the chance of it letting another movie is pretty slim.

Depending how long it takes for marvel to officially get control of the projects i think Boone could still get a sequel out under FOX.

It sounds fairly certain FOX will have a 2019 slate of films either way

I just sent a few tweets to Kevin Feige and tagged James Gunn with them. Brought up how MCU is risk averse and pointed out to not rob us of the New Mutants trilogy and Hard R X-23 and tagged Mangold and Kyle.

I know sometimes Gunn replies to stuff. I complimented him but let it be known my thoughts. I know they’ll do nothing. But if somehow Gunn responds and says how wrong I am. It will cause discussion.

I don't think he would.

Yup my thoughts eXactly.

Especially after the Att/Time Warner failed merger, I think Disney have done their research not to be rejected as well.

That doesn't mean they can legally start running 20th Century Fox right now.

I don't get how a trilogy is assured or deserved for this movie when we got just one teaser to go on.

just terable boone and his cast won't get to have their horror trilogy be made.hopefully this film is good so fans of X_menCU will have it as good instalment in future when the 14 part X-MenCU is rewatched.

Agreed. I just hope they make it a good self-contained story and that the ties to the larger X-men universe, whatever they are, are satisfying in and of themselves rather than being teases for a sequel or future crossover that will never occur.

Maybe its because Josh Boone already pitched a trilogy to Fox and people expected that a New Mutants trilogy is confirmed 100% to happen. Personally speaking, I didn't like the trailer and its fine for me if this ends up as an unology. Maybe MCU would adapt The New Mutants someday and it would look and feel like the New Mutants from the comics with just the 1st trailer.

If it works they can label it an alternate reality and it doesn't really have to mention MCU. The Netflix shows are in the MCU but they rarely mention things going on and don't feel connected. They can treat New Mutants like that, kind of hope they do since I have no interest in seeing it.

It isn't just about the costumes, but films that feels like more the source material. And guess what, costumes are part of it.

chris claremont said the opposite about costumes. he wrote the comics.

Saying it looks nothing like the source material is factual ********.

Why are people panicking? If a movie makes good money... you think Disney will put a stop to that?

Deadpool/X-force are safe. I imagine X23 will still go ahead because she is immensely popular. And If New Mutants makes 600 million Disney will want a piece of that pie too.

I do not think they are safe. From James Mangold pov, he knows this is the end. disney will give deadpool/x-force big cash to go on netflix but ryan and the guys will likely decline.

Above all, no xmen stories are safe since all xmen stories will have to be dumbed down to fit the marvel disney formula.

I am fairly certain that Disney won't attempt to do stories that have already been done so New Mutants probably won't get a redo for another decade or more unless they keep the current New Mutants film series going.

And James Mangold POV was basically down to the freedom FOX gave him to make the movie he wanted to make rather than a committee movie where rules need to be followed and freedom is reduced to fit a corporative vision

It's impossible to answer that without seeing the movie, but I'd argue the director's enthusiasm and vision mean that he deserves a fair shot at a trilogy. In other words, he deserves to have the decision whether to make all three movies to be based on critical and box office results.

I am cool with the New Mutants getting a trilogy, but not with this horror non X-Men version from Josh Boone.

But josh boone is a fan! and fans always give other fans what they want. Its the rules!

Joking aside josh doesn't deserve one but we haven't even seen the first one yet and if people love it then its gonna matter big time whether there is a sequel while at the moment its not really a big deal.

At least not X-Men Apocalypse and Fant4stic levels.

I've seen nothing from his vision or statements to convince me he deserves a trilogy. IMHO it's a rather silly statement to make.

Yes because we know for a fact that 20th Century Fox never dumbs down or changes any Marvel stories.
