Not exactly a fetish, but a weird kind of love. Seriously I can not go an hour without thinking about JAWS or the JAWS ride. It is my dream to go on the island on the JAWS ride, and at the moment I am trying to recreate the burnt shark smell on the ride. I am simply in awe with it.

The neighbour hood I live in reminds me of JAWS because of the tree's and old fashioned houses and such :). Also I am going to Marthas Vineyard next summer for a JAWS convention called JAWS Fest.

So what are your thoughts?

**also, I watch Jaws at least 4 or 5 times a week :)

Something tells me you have an obsession with Jaws.

* seriously you might want to consider a hobby (something that has nothing involved with Jaws, sharks, or even the ocean)

I love the Jaws ride. So much fun. I'd kill to go back to Universal Studios. KILL I SAY.

JAWS is my favorite film, but you do appear to have a fetish.

Go all the way, study marine biology, go swimming with sharks, eat chum for breakfast, become a scruffy misanthropic fisherman with a death wish, etc.

meh...I was prepared for the worse when I saw the words "fetish", "Jaws", and "ride" in the thread title.

I've never been, but I've ALWAYS wanted to go. It must be damn good if people get obsessed and willing to kill for it.

Anyone else instantly have the friends episode pop into there head, where Monica thinks Chandler is into "shark porn".... come on i can't be the only one.

The only ride that even romotely deals with Jaws that I have been on is the studio tour at Universal Hollywood.

You and CashForSlash can go on a date then...

Wasn't there a seperate Jaws ride at one time?
The Universal Studios in Hollywood, has the jaws ride as part of the tour, the Universal Orlando park, has/had it as it's own ride (like king kong as well) i'm not sure if jaws or king kong is still in Orlando....

I knew what you were talking about. I was just making a really bad joke.

And yes, I am always this crazy:yay:

ooh... i see...

Every time I go to Universal, I have to ride this ride. It is best at nighttime, but it's mainly a great ride for nostalgia purposes considering the newer attractions in the park. This is of course Orlando's ride.

Ah, thought so.

Besides the studio tour and Jurrasic Park rides, Universal doesn't have any good rides anymore. I still can't get over them replacing BTTF the Ride with a ******ed Simpsons ride...

Universal Hollywood sucks ass, only reason to go to the area, period, is for the city walk. I won't go to the park unless it's a free thing, i haven't riddin the simpson's ride, but only other rides there are Shrek 4D (which isnt even a ride), T2 (which isnt a ride and is lame), Jurassic park (which is nothing compared to the one in Orlando.... because they actually take care of the dinosaurs, replacing there skins very often, and not letting them get sun dammaged), the mummy (which is meh), and i think that's it? back to the future is a lame ride anyway... it's just nostalgic, that's it.

*Phew* At least you don't have a rabid fetish for the 70's Jaws board game. We had it way back when I was a kid and that plastic shark with its gaping mouth and evil eyes terrified me.

P.S. You'd think by now they could afford to make a better mechanical shark. :p

Simpsons is ok(replaced the better Back to the Future), Shrek 4d sucks, T2 is not lame, Mummy is cool but short, and Jurassic Park keeps scaring me because I somehow always manage to be seated with people who keep the safety bar too far from my body.:csad:

1) i didn't know you live in LA? or come often?
2) ive been spoiled by thrill rides my entire life (best 2 coaster parks in the US are cedar point in Ohio, and Six Flags: Magic Mountain in LA. I've been to all 4 disney parks in Orlando, as well as both universal parks there as well. And it's come to my attention, that nearly all "screen motion" rides suck ass aside from Spider-Man, Bugs Life, and Shrek... everything else has bored me to tears, Back to the Future being one of the worst. Nostalgia is all it has. T2 is incredibly bad as well, as is Star Tours, sure if ur a fan of all those movies there enjoyable, but for rides? there lame as hell
3) the mummy is extremely boring in terms of coasters... its short, and just a repetitive track (once forwards, and then backwards)
4) for some reason the jurassic park rides (both orlando and hollywood) have never scared me, yet the Dinosaur ride at Disney's animal kingdom, petrified me. It had a giant dino running after you, litterally chasing the vehicle, lots of pitch darkness with a dino popping up in your face... etc etc... and is probably the scariest theme park ride ever to me. lol

now i haven't been to orlando for probably over 8 years now, but my favorite rides in the whole world out of all the parks i've mentioned, are as follows

Coasters:
1) The top thrill dragster (cedar point)
2) X-2 (Six Flags MM)
3) Tatsu (Six Flags MM)
4) Millennium Force (cedar point)
5) Hulk (Universal Islands of Adventure)
6) The Raptor (cedar point)
7) The Beast (Paramount's Kings Island, Ohio)
8) Goliath (Six Flags MM)
9) Space Mountain (Disneyland)
10) Dueling Dragons (Universal Islands of Adventure)

Adventure Rides:
1) Spider-Man (Universal Islands of Adventure)
2) Jurassic Park (Universal Islands of Adventure)
3) Indiana Jones (Disneyland)
4) Pirates of the Caribbean (Disneyland/Disneyworld)
5) The Haunted Mansion (Disneyland/Disneyworld)
6) Men in Black (Universal Studios Orlando)
7) Finding Nemo (Disneyland)
8) Buzz Lightyear (Disneyland)
9) It's a Small World (Disneyland)
10) Safari Ride (Disney's Animal Kingdom)

Free Fall rides:
1)Doom Drop (Universal Islands of Adventure)
2)Power Tower (Cedar Point)
3)Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (Disney's California Adventure/Disneyworld)
4) Superman (Six Flags Magic Mountain)

what type of ride is the simpsons ride anyway? screen? coaster? animatronic/adventure?

Orlando here, been to both parks, and behind the scenes. Not quite sure the differences between the Orlando Parks and the LA ones, only heard we're better, probably because we have the original US theme park

Ah now I understand

I can agree with this, I'm more partial to the Hulk

Well my first time riding JP was during nighttime at one the HHN events, so to me it was a great experience that I just don't have the same way during the day.

I've only ridden 3 of those rides:csad:

Pretty decent list

I'm a Universal boy but Twilight Zone has always been my fave

Simpsons is the exact same ride as Back to the Future; Screen Adventure. Same movements at the exact same times with an added effect of baby's breath, Back to the Future just seemed to involve a bit more of a creative process imho.

I miss riding the JAWS ride! Good childhood memories. :)

What a great classic film that was. Although I harbor a soft spot for the 3-D sequel. Kinda like my love for Rocky 4. :O

Admit it it, you just thought Louis Gossett Jr. was hot in that movie. ;)
