So you would rather have your face slam against the WHEEL OR THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD...than hit the airbag? Can't agrue with that logic, skippy.

So this huge 18 wheller trys to get into our lane without even looking, so this car has to slam on its breaks in order to not frigign die. so the car behind them SMASHES into the back and the driver didnt have a seatbelt n n smashed into the windshield he sok though. so there I am right behind them , going 75 mph and i obvi slam on my breaks but still crash into them, and the guy behind me then hits me! thankfully all i have is a headache, but the guy in the windshield i sin the hospital!

now my cars is totaled-picture this only black n with hotter rims

He's mourning over his baby.

Yes well, there are more important things than his 'baby'.

Well, you kind of prioritize importance based on the situation.

Well. If I survive, I'll be a certified badass. If not then well. I'd wish there were some damn airbags to punch me in the face.

A car is always a her or a baby.

My first Truck was a guy..and his name was Dwayne. :(

RIP Dwayne.

The one I have now is Dinah. :) She's a champagne color with black sparkle pinstripes.

glad your okay and the other person as well.......but your insurance will go through the roof. I think it is so messed up that the insurance companies raise their prices when you make a mistake on the road!!

How come airbags seem to hurt people a lot?

Because they sit too close to them, that's why. That's what they get for having stubby little legs. :o

Glad to read that you're all right.

Sorry about your car.

Young Drivers has the following advice on how to avoid this in the future:

1. Maintain a safe following distance of 2-3 seconds in the city, 3-4 on the highway and 4-5 on an onramp. (It takes 1 second to move your foot from your gas pedal to your brake pedal)
2. Maintain a stagger (an empty area to the right or left of your vehicle for you to dodge into in case of problems ahead). If unable to maintain a stagger, increase your following distance.

If you had done 1 and 2 you could have avoided being involved in the collision by dodging into your stagger from your safe following distance.

i was like 20 feet behind her, i wad goin 75 n he slammed on his breaks.

At 75 mph, being 2 to 4 seconds behind is about 110 to 220 feet.

well maybe mor elike 10-15 feet, were close but not that close. again i was able to stop enough to not kill anyone, but istill hit her hard enough total my car.
