Seriously Hulk is on my list of bet marvel movies which is btw..(complee list)
SM 1 and 2
X-men 1 and 2
Blade
The Hulk
....I really dont get why people hated it, and I for one loved the comic book panel film style...If people watched Sin city I don't know why they cant tolerate this...oh well

Good point.
And your list of the best Marvel films looks exactly mine.

I thought the Hulk was a good movie for what it was. But I prefer a more 'fun' Hulk movie and I hope the necessary improvements will be made in the sequel. Some of the changes I'd like to see is the Hulk interact with your everyday normal people on the streets. I'd like to see the Hulk save a child and do some heroic things. Maybe save a kid from getting beat up by a bunch of bullies. It would be cool if it Bruce came back and couldn't find a place to stay because he wanted to remain in hiding and was forced to live in the streets. You could set up a scene right there with a bunch of thugs appoaching Bruce thinking that he was some bum or something. That would be perfect to introduce the 'You wouldn't like it when I'm angry' line. The general audience would definitely dig that. My point is I don't want to see anymore Hulk vs tanks or Hulk fighting helicopters or Hulk fighting in the deserts or Hulk against soliders. I'm not saying those scenes were bad. They were enjoyable. But I'd like to see the Hulk deal with your ordinary people. A supervillian would be nice to. I want Hulk to be portrayed as a hero saving people like Spider-Man. I hope these changes will be made in the next movie.:hulk:

Hulk is bound to run into the army again, its necessary IMO, but i wouldnt mind seeing him help some people.

I didnt like the movie when I first saw it, but I saw it again this weekend, and I liked it alot. Thought it was a really good movie. I stand corrected.

I LOVED HULK!

Seriously. An awesome, deep movie. Ang Lee rocks.

I saw it in theatres when it was released. I hated it. It took me a second time like 3 yrs later to appreciate it. It was a really deep movie. I think everyone gives a great performance. Lee did a great job. The overall look of the movie is epic. Hulk in CGI was extremely impressive. IMO its up there with the Kong animation.

I actually feel ashamed to have under rated the movie the way I did.

No need to feel ashamed Iceberg, a lot of people did and still do, but i'm glad that you are not so stubborn with your opinion that you gave the movie another chance, if only more people would do that.

It amazes me that the FF, a film with largely mediocre casting decisions, schoolboy scriptwork, 2nd rate effects work, weak narrative and story and a pretty much unbiased universal hatred from anyone over the age of 12 (or anyone who has actually read a FF comic) is rushed into sequel develoment, whilst HULK, with it's stella cast, intriguing direction, innovative editing, brave story telling and though provoking sequences has been languishing in Hollywood hell for the last half decade or so.

Now that I see the movie for what it is, I agree with you. Its just a shame. Its all about the $$$. That will never change.

I don't think its a mistake to "lighten" the tone of the movie. The Hulk was great but it was depressing. They should counter Bruce's misery at his predicament with some humor and a bit more action. The action was great but too little of it compared to the narative. And I don't mean sophomoric humor, just some humor to lighten the mood.

I thought the cgi was great (yes, there were a few shots where Hulk looked "cartoony" (but think of the advances since then!) and they should definitely go that route again (just no 15' Hulk, PLEASE!) with the same look for the Hulk.

And give Bana the job and don't do a remake. Pick up where Hulk left off! There's no reason for a restart! If the other cast won't come back, replace them or do the "man on the run" story so they're not in it and develop a new supporting cast. I bet Sam Elliott would come back. And Josh Lucas. Don't know about Connelly.

Anyway, great movie. Just needed to be a LITTLE less depressing.

All superheroes' lives are kinda depressing. Spider-Man lost a father figure then found out it was his fault. Batman's parents were gunned down in front of him. Superman's not just an orphan but the last of his entire species. The X-Men are hunted & persecuted. Spawn came back from hell to find that he would've been better off staying there. You ever read Ant? She doesn't know if her life is real or a delusion. It goes w/the territory. What they need to not do is market the damn thing as an action movie if it's gonna be a somber drama.

Exactly, how the hell does this **** work, i think the difference is that kids loved FF, but when they grow up and watch both Hulk and FF again, i bet they think Hulk is A LOT better

Not to mention Daredevil, who's lost his Father and his girl in quick succession, and The Punisher, who watched his family gunned down.

DD's lost more than one girl in the comics. And now he's in jail & his best friend is dead.

yeah, I don't like to watch DD either because of that very reason. It is a downer. I feel good after watching the Spidey films, the FIRST Xmen film, Batman begins...but after watching Hulk or DD I feel depressed. Maybe somepoeple like feeling that way after watching a movie. I do not.

The Hulk/Banner is arguably the most depressing character in comics, but thats one of the things I like most about him. He never gives up, and always tries to make the best of the situation. No matter what he goes through he still remains good at his core, even though he does fight with the good guys. But, the thing is, that there is always hope for the Hulk/Banner that things will somehow turn out okay in the end. So, till the Hulk turns purple and starts wearing green pants, make mine Marvel.

While i do think parts of the story are depressing in the movie, I wouldnt say the movie overly was depressing overall. The end is great when everyone thinks Bruce is dead, but we find him in a calm place helping people that need help. But place's can never stay calm for long and when conflict comes the Hulk gets unleashed again. And Banner seems to have accepted it more by the as well. That is an ending with hope IMO.

It seemes that during the battle w/his dad, Bruce & the Hulk came to sort of an understanding.
