I Officially Dont Trust Cash Machines.

I went to the cash machine yesterday half way through doing my food shopping to take out a £100. The machine opens to give me the money but the rollers that push the money out did not do there job, the machine closed it's little hatch/door and i dont get my money.

So i go to the bank, the woman said she'd have to fill a form in and contact the bank that own's the ATM, If that back said the machine is up by £100 i'd get it back, if not i wont. (it should be, but i still worry about it, i worry about EVERYTHING though) Thing is this could take up to 21 working days, and i had other bills to pay (not to mention the food i was about to buy for me and my family) Luckily my future mother in law helped us out.

I was just wondering has this ever happened to anyone else?

how rather strange. I never had a problem with an ATM, I just hate having to pay $2 for an ATM fee.

Happening to me once years ago never got the money back.

I never goto an ATM anymore.
I goto a grocery store and buy something for 1 dollar, then have them give me $100 in cash.

So basically it still counted against you as if you had actually recieved the money from your account?

That's why I only use the ATM machines at my official bank. Most of the time I'll just debit or do the "cash back" method at some stores. I never trust those shady grey ATMs in the corner of the sketchy Chinese restaurant.
