have you noticed that because Batman Begins's reboot, all of sudden fanboys are like "Let's reboot Spider-Man since Part 3 sux". It's weird.
You make some good points Chris, but I have to disagree with the Joker point.
Apart from TAS this is the best and most accurate interpretation of Joker IMO. Everything was spot on with his personality. Yea he wore make-up and he didn't have the ol acid spitting flower and hand buzzer. But so what? Them things don't define the Joker, his personality does. Broadcasting threats over the news, ****ing around with the mob and other villains, completely screwing around with Batman. He did them things better than any other incarnation we have seen.
Then there is people who say he wasn't funny enough. I'll say this, the only person who should find Joker funny is himself. He isn't a funny guy, he is a sick and evil guy. This is a guy who paralyzed a young woman and stripped her naked, this is a guy who fed poisoned cotton candy to boy scouts, this is a guy who gassed a kindergarten, this is a guy who was going to massacre dozens of orphaned babies. All of you people out there who think he is funny don't have a clue.
Maybe I'm just weird, sadistic, ****ed in the head, but I found Joker incredibly funny in TDK. He didn't have to tell knock-knock jokes for this to happen: His characteristics were funny - just the lil things. I'm not sure whether to list them or not, because I know for a fact they won't come across as funny in a post. Sometimes it was just the way he said things - 'Which one of you fine gentlemen would like to join our tEAm?' - and sometimes it was the things he did - sliding down that pile of money for some reason makes me chuckle every time.
There's other instances, like when he talks about Dent being in one place or several.
Blowing up the hospital...
*Opens jacket revealing hand grenades* Ahhh da-da-da-da-daah.
None of it was classic comedy funny ha-ha stuff; I found it more like reading American Psycho, laughing at things I had no right laughing at.
And who can forget his mimic of the goon getting fried when trying to take off Bats' mask?
To say he was unfunny in TDK is a travesty to the awesomeness that was abundant in the film.
That being said, he is a sick ****er and I AM extremely weird when it comes to how I like my humour.![]()

For example, fanboys of Dark Knight might dimiss a Tim Burton movie only because his Batman films, even though they ARE influential. Or they would be avid supporters of 'realism', thus dismissing anything 'fantastical'. Film is a visual medium, so they should hush up.
To be fair, I've read and heard a very fair share of the opposite side of this. I've seen plenty of fanboys bash the Nolan movies simply because they weren't like Burtons two films or didn't share his visual style.

the Burton and Nolan films have their strengths and weaknesses.
