Damn Straight

Really there is nothing wrong with liking some of everything (i Literally do listen to everything, country, Rock, pop, metal, swing, some rap, alternative, and of course Sinatra) But to not know House of Pain, and not like ANY of the list you put forth...wow...that's just...wow...
They said they were not much for Rock music...I did not bother to offer Led Zepplin, if they had turned them down I think I would have had to kill someone:(

Eh, you live in a city don't you? Hang out with a different crowd then.

The suburbs are the worst place to be if you wanna get away from "popular" music. Ugh.

My problem is I moved out of the city (Boston)...we actually used to get great concerts there and people liked good music.:(

So ironic, I'd get into undergroup hip-hop and indie music but I.....can't find any. :(

Punk music has taken a bigger nosedive than any other genre of music. It's become way too commercialized. Bakc when the Punk Revolution hit back in the 1970s' and The Clash, The Ramones and The Sex Pistols (among others), punk was never meant to be commerical. It wasn't meant to appeal to the mainstream crowd, which is what made it so revolutionary. Nowadays, it's not uncommon to find a punk song in the Top 40 or even the Top 10.

It's not even the fact that its become mainstream that bugs me, as much as how the music itself deviates so far from the original sound of the genre. Even in the mid-90's when pop-punk started with Green Day and the Offspring they had a sound that could still be considered Punk

I remember back when "In The Club" or whatever came out. Everyone loved it. I download it, listen, and I'm confused, because how can this song be the song everyone is raving about? Then it was. And I think that is the day I died inside. :(

Jimmy Buffet is awesome. Anyone who drinks booze from a blender is awesome in my book.

Okay drinking booze from a blender is pretty cool....

To me Jimmy Buffet is the guy with the cult following whose cult I never want to meet.

It's like

"Hey ShadowBoxing you ever heard Jimmy Buffet"

"Yeah...he does Cheese Burger in Paradise, pretty cool guy I guess"

"Hey, cool. I got some Jimmy Buffet want to listen"

"ah...................................................no"

"Maybe next time then"

"No probably not next time either".

It's essentially when mainstream music died. Though it had long been suffering since Radiohead's OK Computer (the last true masterpiece in music) was released.

Jimmy Buffett writes good music, if you're a forty year old upper class couple who like to get piss drunk off margaritas at your house on the beach.

I'd hate to sound like a ****e, but Stadium Arcadium was realeased recently, and it might be my favorite RHCP album.

Sooo...no. Mainstream music is not dead.

Plus, lotsa good albums were realeased after OK Computer.

Yes, for me it is. I was never a huge RHCP fan anyway. I only liekd "Under The Bridge" and "Scar Tissue".

Yes, there were some good album released after OK Comuter, but none of them were masterpieces.

i must admit..i lost interest in the chili peppers around bloodsugarsexmagik...after that i don't think i heard one song of theirs that i really liked like i used to like them.
