classic rock (99% of it atleast...led zep/aerosmith/etc...) is probably my least favourite genre of music....so horrible....people's musical tastes differ...deal with it.
And this is why my Rugby team has trouble recruiting new members.

There is nothing like a sport that carries with it the real possibility of killing a man to get the women moist.

How about the English Romatic Poets? they are pretty cool. You know; Blake, Coleridge, Shelley, Wordsworth, Keats, Byron.

There ain't a damn thing wrong with Jimmy Buffet Mr.Webs. Don't you fret atall. He loses his salt shaker a lot, but that ain't no biggie.

It's funny to listen to his songs. The man can be doing the most insanely boring thing and write a song about it.

Buffet - "How long does it take these people to make a cheeseburger?! Taking forever.............................might as well write a song."

And we got Cheeseburger in Paradise

OK. Got it. Sorry. :o

I was just trying to make conversation with thedeadite there. Help him out with something that might be interesting. :)

I really like Garbage lately.
Good band

I like what I have heard of them.

Nobody beats Jack Bauer though. And I must say that the two scenes on either side of the classic line; "I'm gonna need a hacksaw" were brilliant! :D

Every once in awhile I think Jack has gone soft...and then he murders somebody in his boss' office

I think you guys need to quit being so narrowminded about other people's preferences in entertainment. Just because you happen to have a unique taste in music that a whole group of people don't agree with doesn't make you better nor does it make you smarter or more superior. You need to come to terms that everyone has their own taste and opinions on entertainment and you shouldn't judge them for it.

I say that if you can't come to terms with their taste in entertainment than maybe it's time you look for new friends because those people could do a lot better without you.

I don't know what the disconnect is from me and my peers at college is exactly, I mean assume we all had comprable upbringings and surroundings. But this was a few weeks ago. Me and 13 friends celebrated beach weekend by renting a beach house. Me and 4 other guys (all of them I am pretty tight with...or so I thought) rode down together. When they first hopped in the car I had a CD playing, the most masculine music I thought I had to play, House of Pain (famous for "Jump Around" "Put on your sh** kickers" and "Top of the Morning to Ya"..)...Ya know music that makes you wanna kick a$$ and take names. Not only had they never heard them before at all, they did not like it (c'mon I remember growing up on that stuff)

Next from my selection of music I suggest Rage Against the Machine, which they counter is terrible music:eek: ...that was my reaction too.

Next we put in the far less abrasive Hobbastank, which I admit is far to tame...they get board with it fairly quickly.

I suggest Snoop Dogg: NO, Run DMC: NO, No rap, No Korn, No Hard Rock, No mild Rock (apparently they have a problem with Rock)....No to Rolling Stones, No to my Seether CD, No to Kanye West, No to Tupac, No to Bob Dylan...

I think we end up listening to John Mayer and Gavin DeGraw for a while...both CDs I burned for girlfriends to listen to while I drove places.

Finally I get them to agree to Red Hot Chilli Peppers, a crowd pleaser you'd think. We listen for a while, but they get tired of it and suggest that we plug in their IPOD.

What is on their IPOD you ask. Oh its bands like Postal Service, Some techno-emo BS, this techno instrumental music that sounds like its from romantic comedies, singer songwriters like Wheat and stuff like Verticle Horizon.

The next day we get in a friend's car (who had met us down there) and he is listening to (get this) Jimmy Buffet and Music Man (yes the showtunes). What happened to my Generation...they even scoffed at me when I pointed out "Music is about rebellion"

God help us all if this is our future.

Oddly enough, I feel the same way you do in the title, but the situation is reversed. I find that too many people listen to overly masculin music, and I have the taste your friends do. Man, where are more people like that around here.

I am more likely to find it ridiculous if you try to play Rage Against the Machine or say that music is a rebellion. I mean, music can be a rebellion, but too much of that makes me feel embarassed for this generation when they think they really are rebellion (compared to...upholding the status quo? please...)

I have a problem with what I see as people listening to too much straight up rap and rock, when there's are so many weird things out there to listen to, like "vaudeville" with Tom Waits, Bristol Sound with Massive Attack, or something like Brian Eno, Stereolab. You know, creative stuff.

My generation is all about punk emo or rap i only listen to music before the eighties now:o oh and black metal that @#$% is hardcore and funny to me
