And I am sure those people don't mind taking a step ahead to better themselves. Like if they do own small business, I am sure they want to find ways to make their business more successful. And those who have completed a marathon... those seem like competitive people so I doubt they'd have the attitude of, "I don't want to move forward but stay where I'm at since I've already completed a marathon. There is no other goal for me in this life."

And no, I'd not say that most people are miserable since I don't have the numbers to support my claim... if that was indeed my claim.

If you had said "a lot of people" rather than "most" I've nothing to argue but to agree with you. When you said "most" I just figured you meant "the majority" and I doubt that to be the case. Not saying you'd be wrong, but I doubt you'd be right. And I would doubt it because, if you look at the world population as a whole, I think rich, successful people are not the majority.

Those who wallow in self-pity or lack motivation... it's hard for me to feel sympathy for them. If a person tries as best as he/she can and yet fail while trying or fail in spite of the effort they put in... I can respect people like that.
