WOW, another pirate copy? this one is even better!
i manniped this pic. the original was not so good.

The best pirated copy that I know of was MAVEN. It's so much better to just go the theater and see it on the big screen which I have done twice, and will do a 3rd time next week.

I have to say I was just as into it the 2nd time if not more. It's cool if you are going with different people who haven't seen it yet.

Is there a website where I can download the "maven" superman returns pirate?

4th time for me was this past Sunday. I sat closer this time to make everything look bigger. It was great. After 4 times its still as good as always. I just need a different crowd the next time I go :)

Same here, I'm up to 4... dragged my girlfriend to see it on IMAX 3D which was pretty cool too. Supes Returns (as long as your someone who loves movies, and not just going to see action scenes) is one of those films that's better a second time around, like Batman Begins. It's cool still hearing everyone gasp and go "holy ****... it's Superman's kid..."

Alright, what I think are the best images in the film:

1) The entire sequence of Superman recharging, tossing new krypton, and then falling to the earth, all the way through until he escapes the hospital. I include it as 1 scene BECAUSE it's all very connected and very important, the symbolic death connected with his loss of his family, and then his symbolic coming back to life when he realizes he still has family (Jason). Complete with Jason's touching of the El family crest, showing Kal-El's solitude- very well done.

2) Superman's getting his ass (<--can I say that?) handed to him. Again, very well done, and it showed that good doesn't always triumph over evil.

3) Lois, on the plane, seeing Superman flying past the window... awesome the way it was done.

4) The father/son speech.

5) I don't think anyone's mentioned it, but the scene where Superman goes by the White house and watches Lois. Great shot of him lowering himself down (and the camera panning up from his feet), and it was good to see a vulnerable Superman when Lois said she never loved him. (Similar type of vulnerability shown when Lois wouldn't kiss him on the rooftop, and he stepped away a bit upset/angry).

I can encode it for you. Its awesome. Even the scene before that:

"I have to go back.."

"Goodbye Lois"

You could feel the greatness of Superman and everything he stood for.

Yeah, that might be the single greatest moment in the entire film. Does anyone know if that cue is on the score anywhere?

Glad you enjoyed it Hunter Rider.

There were so many iconic moments in the film but to me, this scene is the most iconic Superman scene caught on film so far:

i agree. (if only we can get a clearer copy of that :()

and this too:

btw, is there a version of this photo that has shows the entire DP Globe? just seeing part of it just doesnt quite have the same impact of seeing the huge steel structure with a tiny Superman at the bottom.

Interesting thread. I was just saying the other day that I thought Superman Returns lacked any type of iconic imagery. Just sayin'

I think the globe is the most iconic shot in the movie.. superman with the weight of the world on his shoulders.

i also think the shot undernieth new krypton..just when the Rock falls away and reveal supes..the muic change..

Superman!!

would've been more iconic if we had the full Globe to compare how big that is compared to Superman.

i was about to post that too, but part of my problem with that shot-- as with most NK sequences was that it was all too dark. this was one of the problems with BB, but it greatly improved on the DVD version.

well you do get a shot of the full one in the movie

that wasn't that dark in the theatre i watched it in?

just partially... through a window, part of which was broken through ;)

i want a nice clean shot. there was some promo material hanging by the ceiling at some of the cinemas and shop i went to, it was what i was looking for: the full shot of the Daily Planet globe with Superman carrying it. problem with those is that the ration:proportion is all wrong. THe DP Globe is maybe 5-10x bigger than Supes, the promo material looked liked the Globe was only 2x as large as Supes.

i meant more "not as crisp" :p
