Ideas for the new costume in the Batman reboot

I wouldn't mind massively if they used the MoS material and construction for the new batsuit. However, I do feel that a semblance of should still be there, not as overstated as Nolan, where Batman is very grounded, nor too understated, like the near metahuman Captain America.

If an Arkham like design could be placed on the MoS suit, I'd like to see it.
I like that idea a lot.

That's because that's the choregraphy that was chosen for Batman in this franchise, based on the Keysei fighting method. He was shown to be able to do other moves several times.
Right but the weight of a 90+ pound plastic body armor slows the actor down. Just look at the fight scene between Batman and the Joker's goons. Prime example that regardless of the fighting style he uses his speed will always be deterred with such a constricting and heavy material.

Like I've said in previous post there are materials available that would create a much more appropriate Batman suit. One that would be far better than what they've basically have been using for the past 20 years. It would weigh less and look much better in action. Shedding 60 or so pounds from the suit the actor has to wear will definitely do wonders.

The Batsuit hasn't weighed nearly that much since the first incarnation in 1989's BATMAN. And even in that scene, there were moments where he appeared to be moving rapidly.

Again, Batman appears to be moving slowly in THE DARK KNIGHT because of the choreography.

Maybe they could have a suit that looks more like chainmail than body armor? Like kevlar with chain mail over it? Then they can still explain why it is still armor without looking like the plastic armor from the Nolan movies.

Something that looks more like cloth would definitely be a change-up from the armor they've been doing.

Wrong thread really, but since it is being suggested here and there are examples...

What I would like to see using the prosthetic body suit akin to Prometheus and the Flash tv show is Green Lantern. I get what they were trying to do with the CGI bit a second skin type prosthetic suit would have worked perfectly for that enhanced with CGI. That is absolutely the way to go if they want to make a sequel and save money while maintaining a similar look.

I'm still way more into the Cap suit as a base for Batman and comic accuracy.

I want these for both heroes.

Funny how much of those designs are currently in the new 52 actually. Batman's cowl and gauntlets, and Robin has Damian Wayne's style.

I think these suits were fine. It would be awkward for Batman to not use body armor. He doesn't have any super power and he likes hand to hand combat. And please no gray or blue colors.

1. Full black (even the belt)
2. Cape covers shoulders.
3. Less plates, something similar like this:

He should wear light armor like Captain America or Hawkeye. I want to see the comic version on screen.

Has anyone brought up Watchmen? I just remember one detail of Night Owl's costume, which was something missing from ALL the Bat suits, the removable cowl. I love that the film was about to show a visual detail from the comics that always seems to be written off as too difficult to pull off. I know the Flash costume also featured it, but at least Watchmen was a new-school example of it.

You know what's funny? Robin in that image, kinda, looks like Joseph Gordon Levitt.

Didn't notice that.

It sucks he's 31 he could have been a great Robin.

GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAT POINT! That would be awesome, and it is doable... (because like you said - Watchmen did it)

and it looked awesome...@2:38

Good lord, you're right. Yes, removable cowl is a must have now.

The Batman Earth One cowl can do that. Or a least it's designed to look like it could do that.

It took us Watchmen and 4 years to occur to us that - THAT cowl is a MUST for Batman lol.

I want lenses for Batmans mask.To make his mask more comicbooklike

If Hugo Weaving can have his entire face covered in V for Vendetta, then Batman can live with his eyes covered. And then there would be Spider-Man as well.

I've always thought that as well.

I always liked the idea that in B89 where he was to have mirrors over his eyes so criminals saw their own fear when looking at him. But it was cut :(

He removed it in BB even, in the batcave after Rachel had been poisoned. Don't know what everyone's on about.

I'm pretty sure they're talking about a cowl that can be removed, but is still attached to the cape, you know, like a cowl instead of a helmet.

He removed a cast mask/helmet...not something like Night Owl's cowl, which is more like Batman's in the comics than anything in the movies.
