I love most of the suggestions here! really great stuff. not to insist, cause its not like its my design, but you guys don't think
this has potential? (underline «potential», i know its a little too robotic looking, the artist told me he used the Mass effect armor as inspiration).
Regarding Batman's costume, I'd like a combination of the following.
Numbered the pics for reference; pics have original watermark and artist signatures as well.
1. I know a lot of posters here hate the cowl, but it's the thing I love most about the concept of this costume, it's a great looking cowl I would love. I also
love the way the cape is attached and the knee pads used.
Also not numbered, but I thought the Batman Begins/The Dark Knight belt is perfect.
2. With the Batman Earth One suit, I want the yellow bat-symbol again. If no yellow, then I like the grey and midnight blue/black combo here. I want the
black bat-symbol to be prominent on top of the grey. I also would like the piping here from the torso and legs; the leg piping here is the only amount of
piping I want, it's in the proper place for the legs to stretch, bend, and it has a proper codpiece without it looking like an overly huge bulge.
3. With Cap's costume, I want to use the same fabric for Batman's suit, excluding cape, except in Batman's colors in pic 2. I also would like the same
type of boots.
4. On the Tron costume, I like the hexagon-pattern mesh underneath the armor to combine with the Cap America Avengers costume.
5. Snake Eye's arms are just like how I'd like Batman's to be like. I'd like to see the mesh material be the Tron hexagon-mesh instead. I also like the
shoulder and bicep pads, and the gauntlets, all that needs to be added are the bat-fins.
6. I liked the material used on Nite-Owl's cape from
Watchmen, and in the color of pic 2. One change I would make, would be to make the cape fully
black, but have the underside to it be the midnight blue color.
If you took away the cape clasps and corrected the number of scallops on the bracer, I would love this:
(not my art)
I don't know if I would go with any of these designs myself, mostly because I have my own ideas and they are sort of particular, but if the movie went
with any of these costumes, and almost any suggested, I wouldn't be upset. There are so many great ideas for his costume suggested on this thread. I
wasn't to thrilled with the Batman costume in Begins or later in Dark Knight (except for him having a real neck) but they worked fine. I also wasn't too
thrilled about the designs for Cap in Cap 1 and Avengers, but they turned out great. So I think any suggestions are great, and I can see them using any
of these ideas and them working in the next movies.
Personally though I think some padding like the Snakeyes costume with gray spandex stretched over it. Gray like this, to contrast the big black bat
symbol and the black cape and mask and the yellow belt.
Really it all depends on what direction they want the film and the character to go. If they want it to be more like the comic where unreal things can
happen like Ras living forever because of the Lazarus Pits or the Joker being created from falling into acid or Clayface and Killer Croc, then they would
probably go with a more costume look and less armor. And you could do that and still keep it dark and viewable for older audiences, like Timm's Batman
in all his Batman cartoons. But if they are going with a more down to Earth Batman like Nolan did, they might keep the armor theme and go with
something that is clearly armor and visible and not something that looks like a costume necessarily. If they want THIS Batman to end up joining the JLA
in a movie they would need to design his costume to not only look good on screen, and maybe something more comic book like, but something that
would fit in with the rest of the JLA costumes. You wouldn't necessarily want a JLA in spandexy costumes and then Batman in rubber armor. (For the
record, I think Wonder Woman should have a sort of traditional Amazonian Roman type armor similar to Xena if you need a comparison, similarly
Aquaman's clothing should be more armor like and traditional garb for Atlantians and not a costume, GL should have something that looks like an alien
space uniform, and Superman should look like Superman.) Also, is this the Batman from the Brother Eye movie idea they had earlier where Batman is
responsible for creating the OMACs and Brother Eye that attack the JLA? If so then his armor and tech should be very high tech and advanced. Less
spandex and more armor and techno looking. But maybe they go with a Batman more like Alex Ross' War on Crime book, a Batman who uses hardly
any advanced tech and really only has batarangs, rope, and a car. I think I am going to use the Snakeyes picture and photoshop it into my Batman idea.
Personally I want a Batman who has a visually interesting on screen, graphic. Contrasting the colors is a big thing I think, the grays and blacks and
yellow. I am tired of Bat suits that are all one color. But if they did that again I wouldn't complain.
