The Amazing Spider-Man If Mary Jane is used in the reboot...

Mary Jane isn't needed in this film. I wouldn't want to see her yet.

That's old news.

But I wouldn't mind if she had a cameo or showed up at the end.

If she is cast the I choose the flavor of the month actor to play her.

Because I have little imagination.

She should appear. I don't know why people throw out things like "too early." Most franchises don't go beyond 3 movies and I feel a great way to differentiate this from not just Raimi's movies, but almost all superhero movies, is to have two love interests who play off of each other in a triangle. Not young adult like Twilight or the Hunger Games, but more like the SSM cartoon except a little more mature. It would bring back something from the comics that made the Lee/Romita run classic, hasn't been done before, would force the filmmakers to make MJ different/closer to the comics and sets up for maximizing the Death of Gwen Stacy storyline.

Just a thought.

This.

I do like DACrowe's point. I was initially against having MJ in the franchise until the very end, but a few posters have swayed my view. I still want Gwen to die in the third, but I think it would make a lot more sense to introduce MJ in the first or second film so it's not a completely unhappy ending.

Have Mary Jane in the picture for a while, then show her consoling Peter after Gwen's death then do a bit of a time lapse to reveal that they have started dating to end the franchise on a happier note.

I see what you're saying, but I really like the idea of a bitter sweet ending for Pete. That's kinda what Spidey's all about, after all. As Jeff Loeb/Tim Sale/Spider-Man Blue put so succinctly, "Good before bad. Kind of amazing."

Because of that, I don't think a purely happy ending is needed.

I don't think it'd necessarily be a "happy ending" if Gwen is killed in the third act of the final movie. I think it'd be extremely bittersweet to have Mary Jane shown as Pete's girlfriend at the very end of the film. The death of Gwen would still be very fresh in the audience members' minds, and if the final scene was Peter and MJ on a date after a "1 year later" screen, I think it'd be a good way to wrap up the film. Have them on a date, then fade out from that to Spidey swinging on his way to another crime or something.

Sorry. I should clarify. I totally agree except for the fast forward aspect. I feel that that would maybe be sort of lackluster in a way? Maybe undercut the emotional impact of, say, just hinting at a new love. Peter's independence should be a good note to hit at the end.

Forget Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy. Why can't Peter simply be homosexual? I always though it would be an awesome take on the Green Goblin arch to have Harry and Peter together romantically and Osbourne confused over his feelings for revenge over his father's death and his deep longing for his best friend at the same time.

Okay, now after reading another of your posts about Peter being homosexual, I assume you're now serious on the idea.

Hrm...and I still have no idea what to say, lol.

I seriously could see the relationship as if it were Mara Jade and Luke Skywalker, where they do not get together truly until the end, as Harry dies and tragically it keeps them from being together and wondering what if. It's sort of like a cursed love I think many can relate too.

Peter's sexuality will never be changed on film just to keep it with the times. That would just be ridiculous and idiotic to do such.

I think that she should appear in the 2nd film and if gwen dies, she should die in the 3rd one

Agreed, it's essential to introduce MJ as soon as the sequel gets its green light. And, by green light, I don't mean the release date and script being developed, but the actual production.

I think for the last decade we've had MJ more as a merge of MJ and Gwen in both Ultimate comics and Raimi's films, which has always been wrong direction in my opinion.

This time Webb should use MJ from the original comics, but make look as modern as possible, considering the heavy reliance of character on her look and fashion.

I would really like to see a much more faithful adaptation of her this time. She's got to be a social animal and the most noticeable person in any gather. She should simply steal the show when it comes to attention. She also should be able to relate to Peter and see him as someone, who is definetely different from others, which is what attracts her to him. If you look at this, one of the reasons why Gwen liked Peter was because he didn't seem like any other person around, i.e. he had something in himself that would distinguish him from anybody else, even though it's well hidden by him. It will be very interesting, if this is what MJ notices as well, as it draws the parallel line between her and Gwen. They may not be alike, but they have the similar interest in Peter.

However, I also hope that gradually Webb will go deeper in exploring the character and show the other side of MJ, which may hint a potential love interest.

When fans say that after gwen dies mary jane should sudenly appear with her famous phrase but sincerely, she should appear one movie before Gwen's death and in the movie where gwen dies show Maty Jane's other side
