If the remake Back to the Future, how would you want it?

How should they do it?

  • Marty McFly goes back thirty years to the 1980's

  • Marty McFly goes back sixty years to the 1950's

  • Marty McFly's son on a time-travelling romp through the 80's/50's

  • Some other kind of remake

  • Marty McFly goes back to samurai times and fights samurai/dragons (personal pick)

Why would you want a remake of such a good movie??? Don't gvie Hollywood ideas, ok?

Marty and Doc go back to doing something relevant by saving us from the economic downturn.

How about Marty and Doc travel to the year 2009, slap you in the back of the head, and prevent the creation of this ridiculous thread?

Do I win anything?

A completely new title...with completely new characters...in a completely new setting...with a completely new premise...

I could go on but--I think you can tell where i'm going with this...

The SW prequels were good though. Except for AOTC.

Back to the Future is all ready tarnished by Part III, which is just Marty sitting outside looking at hills for two hours.

You have offically reached a level of arogance that has no word to define it. Not only was Part III awesome you agree to liking Episode I.

How was he looking at a hill for two hours? Honestly where the **** did that thought even ****ing come from? I know I sound like an ass but seriously, guy, your simplistic and ignorant analysis of the film is barely even juvenile.

OMG, did he just diss BTTF, part 3?!

Are you freakin' KIDDING ME?!

Part 3, was just as good as the first two. I love it for a number of reasons,

1. The overall focus of the film shifts to Doc and gives him some much apprechaited character development. In this one he was more than just a scientist and we got to know him on a more personal level, moreso than the previous two films. After two films that focused primarily on Marty and his life, it was nice to have Doc take the spotlight for a change.

2. The pacing of the film was more in line with the original in that this time, Doc and Marty are not time hopping all over the place, like it was in 1955, Marty is finding himself adjusting to a single time period and somewhat struggling.

3. The plot was much more simplistic this time around...again, a throwback to the original film.

Even my younger brother, who I swear has a mild form of ADD and cannot sit down to watch an entire movie (at 21 mind you) can sit and watch BTTF 3 over and over again, its by far his favorite of the series. Personally for me, part 2 is my fav, but 3 and 1 are definately up there.

BTTF is NOT one of those many trilogies to suffer from the 3rd movie curse. The whole series is top notch.

This is a series I feel should be untouched. No need to remake it. Just farm a similar concept.

There are two types of trilogies. The first is the kind where the first installment is really good, the second is even better, and the third doesn't live up. Star Wars OT, The Godfather, and Superman are all examples. The second kind of trilogy is one in which the first installment is really good, the second falters a bit, and the third is really good. Jason Bourne and Lord of the Rings are two examples of this. I don't mean to bash the Bourne Supremacy or Two Towers, as they are excellent films, but compared to their franchise counterparts, they are the odd ones out.

Back to the Future is the second kind of trilogy. Part I is really good, but the second falters a bit, though it isn't bad by any means. Part III is generally considered an improvement over the second and on par with Part I, from the opinions I've seen over my life. I am inclined to agree with this sentiment.

As to the idea of a remake? I believe if Spock were human, his response would be, "Go to Hell." If he were human.

they will not make a remake since Speilberg is the producer.

Perhaps I was wrong about Part III, I'll have to insert a disc copy into my view screen and watch it again.

Back to the Future is my single favorite movie franchise, followed by Indiana Jones' adventures. I wanted Indy IV, because I just love the character and want as much as I can get. I do not want a remake or sequel to BttF. It ended perfectly.

Can this thread be closed now and never brought up again?

Oh, God no to this.

There is no God if this gets remade.

PLease close the thread, it makes me sad to think about.

There was a throwaway line in Part III where doc says if he was in the Middle Ages they would burn him at the stake as a heretic. If this was to happen, God forbid, I would want this.

Dude, it's called a DVD, and this view screen, it's called a television or a computer screen. You sound like you're in the 50s yourself

No one should want a BTTF remake, but if it happens, it wil look like this...

I can imagine Shia in the DeLorean. "No, no, no, no, no, no!"

Then when his mom kisses him in the car.

NO! NOoo, no, no, no, no, no, no, nooo!
