Sequels If they used The Green Goblin in the sequels, he should look like this....

Yeah, i still can't see how that would work at all.

and spider-Who? Of course I was taking into consideration the fact of some prosthetics, but my main point in that last post was that within that framework you leave some room for the facial muscles to be used with applied make-up too. Or else what is the point? You want to see the full workings of the facial muscles as opposed to a mask obscuring them.

Like I stated earlier, if it were a mask and had cgi touch-ups, all the facial features could be worked in, it's not like everytime you see the Goblin, the camera is gonna be right in his face. The mask can be pulled off by the designers, it's not something super advanced

and as to your other point...no, there are no mask materials out there that are as good as make up and prosthetics.
Wrong, most prosthetics are done by a form of silicone application, the same material as in a silicone mask,

Speaking of prostetics, anyone hear watch Face Off on Sci Fi?

Would love if someone on there would do the Green Goblin for the hell of it.

That movie is really goofy, but fun to watch
I admit it's fun to watch the fx in it

Judging from the Spider-Man design, if Webb's series got to the Goblin, he may very well look even further from the comic Goblin than Raimi's did. Just sayin'.

Or much closer.

The thing about reboots is that the new creative team is compelled (either artistically or literally, by the studio) to make things different and unique from the previous incarnation.

When a reboot has the opportunity to "right the wrongs" of the previous series, it's a plus. The problem comes when the previous series already got things right. It's hard to fix something that isn't broken, and yet a rebooted series is often asked to do exactly that. And that's when you get things like Webb's spidey suit. Since it was pretty much perfect to begin with, the only "unique" route to take is to go different, and thus, further from the comic.

Luckily, the Goblin situation is the opposite. Webb now has the opportunity to differentiate from the previous series and make it more comic accurate at the same time.

Yep, this is very true. I want a break from Goblins at the moment but at the same time I'd want to see Webb take on the Goblin just to see if he'd make the character more faithful to the look of the comics.

I don't understand your logic.

Spot on blue and red coloring. And black webbing. And web shooters. VS a red stripe down the leg and blue fingers...

Um.....

Why, because he's grinning? There's nothing in that drawing that isn't a representation straight from the comics themselves. Any similarities with Joker is purely incidental.

Green Goblin has had a ton of interpretations. That one looks like the Joker, which came before Green Goblin. He even has green and purple.

Green and purple have been GG's colors since his inception. Again, what aspects of that drawing can be attributed more to Joker than Goblin? I'm not at all seeing it.

Paint his face dull white and give him some red lipstick and that would look exactly like the Joker. GG painting his face green and running around smiling and laughing is way too much like the Joker. I much prefer the more goblin features other than just having Goblin ears like in that representation.

That looks too human.

I know I posted this in an older thread.....

But the thing that always baffled me about GG was when I watched the 90's animated series and even though Norman was wearing a mask, it was like a second skin.

How could they pull that off on film?

Simple. Silicone Masks.

Get what I mean?

I don't know what's going on in this thread anymore but

just give us a real scary a$$ hi tech / low tech flying on a glider green goblin wearing a face tight removable mission impossible type mask pleeaaaasseeeeeeee!!!!!!!! If they can make hundreds of other sci fi movies i think spider-man's greatest enemies deserves to be properly portrayed on screen without us thinking "oh that's not real" b/s!!!!!
