if Thor DOESN'T have a helmet in the movie, how will you feel?

Awesome. I can see how they altered it a bit to suit real-world concerns like, you know, having to physically stay on a real person's head, but they definitely stayed close enough to the comic version to make me happy.

Probably because he is prone to going into battle with people and monsters as durable as he is with the raw physical power and/or weapons capable of hurting him.

I would question why he didn't actually wear armor until just recently, then.

Thor's helmet looks perfect. I really like the design they used coming down on the sides of his face and all rather then just being on top of his head. This movie is going to be ridiculously awesome.

I don't like the Ultimate Universe (especially Ultimates) either but I will admit they do have some good ideas. The only Ultimate comic that I used to like was Spiderman, but even that went downhill.

I don't know, giant wings that cover basically the entire sides of one helmet don't really have a lot in common with tiny little wings on another to me. But Hollywood suits do tend to get kind of weird about what they perceive as similarities. I remember when another actor who looked kind of like Michael Shanks got cast on Stargate SG-1, the suits had Shanks grow a beard for half a season so viewers wouldn't get confused.
