aka the Thor in Avengers thread

What do you guys want to see from Thor in Avengers? I think pretty much everyone wants to see a Hulk vs Thor tussle. I wouldn't mind more helmet, either.

I really want to see the conflict, that occurs between Tony Stark & Thor, concerning the magic vs. technology aspect. Stark will think, that Thor's crazy until Thor somehow shows him Asgard or even something like this from Joe Casey's EMH vol.1:

And, of course, I want to see Thor in action once more, kickin' the hell out of Loki & Skrulls)

Well after hearing about how "Thor" ends, where

He's left trapped in Asgard for the time being, I'm assuming that one of the arcs in this film will be about how he gets back.

It's funny, because I had always imagined that CA would be the one that would be 'retrieved' since as far as I'm aware of, it was the Avengers who thawed him out of being frozen in ice.

I'm actually hoping that we get to see some of the things that were left on a cliffhanger in Thor, to be somewhat resolved in this film in a natural way, without taking any detriments or developments and spotlights from the other core characters of course.

Given on how they also placed emotional weight on Thor wishing to go back to Earth in order to be with Jane, I"m assuming that one of Thor's intentions at the end of the film will be to reunite with her again...unless Natalie Portman somehow manages to recuperate in time from her delivery and film a small cameo.

And I'm curious to see as to what Thor's reaction will be to Loki being on Earth now, considering the irony that Thor had destroyed the bifrost gate in order to prevent Loki from harming any more innocent beings.

With the "Iron Man yes, Tony Stark no" angle they've set it up so that each of the Big Three still has to be "recruited" in some way within the Avengers film. It's an interesting way to go about it given all of the set-up before hand.

Oh wow, good question... (This may change after I've seen the movie and/or depending on direction of Avengers)

Little-range wish
- Thor / Stark banter

Medium-range wish
- Thor vs Hulk

Big-range wish
- Thor vs Skrull Space ship(s)

Same question that Herolle10.

I would like your opinion on the end of Thor . In your opinion, how Thor will join the Earth In The Avengers? Heimdall said Jane Foster works to locate him, but if Natalie Portman is not in The Avengers, how Thor will come to Earth?

With the Cosmic Cube? Loki (Thor occupy on Earth to keep Asgard?).

I think Stark/Thor banter is a given. There's no way Tony's going to just let Thor being a god without saying something about it.

I also think Thor vs Hulk could happen. Whedon's a fanboy just like us, he knows what we want. :D

 To the thread title, *subscribed*. :awesome: I also definitely second the Thor/Stark banter.

i said something about thor and stark talking to each other in some other thread a while back, i'll just paste it here

jackson will introduce thor as "thor the god of thunder". tony will be like "god of thunder?, what like zeus?". thor will get mad and say "i'm nothing like that greek egomaniac". then tony will be like "wait zeus is real?". then thor will say "real, wait till you meet his son(s)". or thor might say "ask his son(s)". tony will just have a blank expression on his face.
something like that, im really interested to see how people react to the fact that there are gods.

it mostly will turn starks world upside down him being a man of science and now all of a sudden he finds out gods are real.

Despite mostly looking forward to Stark/Rogers banter I can't wait to see Thor's role in all this. Reading the original Avengers comics it's all basically one pissing contest after another, Thor particularly standing out. And I can't wait to see him exude force as a powerhouse and inevitably bicker with the others.

First off, I LOVE this thread:thor:, you can never have enough Thor threads in my opinion. Secondly, I agree with HappyPalooza, I'm looking forward to Thor's role in all of this just as much (if not more) as the Stark/Rogers relationship.

I also agree with wanting to see Thor exude himself as a powerhouse among the rest of the Avengers and I hope they don't ride Hulk's nuts like most Marvel films/animation.

I wonder, will Thor return back to Earth as the
King of Asgard this time? Since technically, he was about to be crowned at the beginning of his own film before things went to chaos, and he's most likely learned the lessons that his father had wanted him to, so it'd make sense for him to be crowned king by the time he returns in the Avengers.

I just hope he isn't underused like in the Ultimate Avengers animated films.

Whedon is great at comedy and there is already a naturally comical element with the overall brashness of Thor and the rather subdued personality of Tony, which with Whedon at the helm should be laugh out load funny.

A Thor Vs Hulk fight should also happen, I loved how the Ultimate Avengers film handled the fight, and I hope it doesn't turn out too much like the Hulk Vs Thor animated film, since Thor got his ass handed to him. Thor is the only one with a chance of beating the Hulk and the fight needs to be a closer contest.

Yeah, I think Whedon will have fun with Thor. He's practically dealt with the Thor situation already in the past - a former God living and adapting to contemporary Earth and fighting evil with the (mostly) mortal protagonists - on Angel, and that character was the source of plenty of comedy while still remaining a total bada**.

Sounds cool, but I think I'll like to see that explored in his own films.

Well, all I know is that I'm glad that I won't have to wait 2-3 years to see a 'partial' resolution to the events of Thor.

And hopefully, by the end of the Avengers, we'll be given a vague sense as to where Thor's next solo adventure will be heading towards.

In a way, Thor (alongside CA) will probably have one of the most emotional arcs going into this film.

When we last saw of him, he was left stranded in Asgard after having defeated Loki. Given that he had so desperately wanted to return to Earth to be reunited with Jane Foster, it'll be very interesting to see his reaction as to when he gets back and what holds him from seeing Jane for a little while longer (given that I doubt Natalie would be able to shoot a cameo in her current situation, let alone if Josh even wanted her character to be involved)

Then we have Loki, who we now know after having read or even seen the post credits scene of 'Thor', who will likely be causing trouble for all of Earth, which will probably lead to that 'greater threat' being unleashed that'll force the Avengers to assemble. One must wonder on what'll be going on in Thor's mind and emotions after finding out that not only is his brother still alive, but he's on the LAST place that he'd (Thor) would want him to be.

True, I hope the Avengers hints at Thors next solo adventure as well.

I am looking forward to the Thor and Captain America Interaction. In some 616 comics
Thor makes It clear Cap Is the one mortal he would follow.I am looking forward to seeing cap earn Thor's respect. We all know Cap will emerge as the Avengers leader.

It will be Intresting to see what Joss Does with Thor.

I wanna see Thor kick Hulk's ass, really.

Plus, I always liked "The Ultimates" where Loki got everyone thinking that Thor was a crazy dude...if they could get some of that in there....

if thor's movie does really well then marvel might go thor crazy. like how they are with iron man right now. so we might get to see thor kick hulk's ass if his movie does great, if that makes sense.

Thor vs the hulk and thor vs iron man. THAT is what I want to see

That's what I'm hoping for, but we all know how Marvel likes to ride Hulks nuts by CONSTANTLY having him beat up almost everyone he faces in recent animation.

Personally, I like the Hulk, but that nonesense is starting to get very very old.
