What would you do? I have an extensive idea. I'll post the first four film ideas on here. Also these aren't scene by scene, they're just really in depth summaries of all the really important scenes.

Man of Steel: Very similar to the actual movie, save for a few differences. There's no Kryptonian Codex subplot. Clark creates the fortress of solitude from a terraforming crystal he found in the old ship he came in. His suit in this movie isn't exactly the spandex sort of costume, it's more formal wear. Very much like a tight fitting uniform, with the Superman symbol in its usual place. Zod is drawn to Earth from the signal that emanates from the newly created fortress. They attempt to terraform the Earth, but Superman destroys the world engine in the Indian Ocean, and then flies back. He fights Zod's entire crew, but they are weakened by the fact they aren't used to Earth's atmosphere. Superman easily takes care of them, but Zod focuses and begins fighting Superman in the ground zero of the attack. Here we see Superman consciously avoid damage to Metropolis; he redirects Zod from the city, he saves civilians from certain death. The fight goes back to the Black Zero ship, and Superman activates the phantom drive in the ship. Zod's crew gets sucked in, but Zod manages to fight the pull of the phantom zone. "If you destroy this ship, you destroy Krypton!" Zod screams. "Krypton had it's chance!" Superman yells, knocking Zod back into the portal. Superman flies away as the entire Black Zero ship itself is sucked into the portal, sealing it off. In the after credits scene, soldiers with STAR Labs logos on their outfits are picking through the wreckage of the world engine in the Indian Ocean. One soldiers comes upon a glowing green crystal.

Man of Steel 2: The movie deals with Lex Luthor positioning the world against Superman, who still continues to save people in spite of public opinion. We're also introduced to Kyle Rayner, an artist at the Daily Planet who draws for the comic strips. He seems wary and watchful of Clark. Luthor has acquired S.T.A.R Labs in secret and assigns the C.Y.B.O.R.G Program a patient: John Corben, a man injured in the Black Zero attack. He was a military vet, and his grievous injuries made national news. Luthor promises he'll do right by Corben, and officially begins Project: Metallo. The Kryptonite has many interesting effects with Earth elements; scientists even warn there is nuclear power possibilities, even. Over the course of the film we track Superman's investigations on Luthor as Clark Kent, and his growing troubles as the Superman. Kyle Rayner tracks Superman to a rooftop, and tells him he knows Superman is Clark- "the ring scanned your Kryptonian physiology from a mile away,". He says Superman is a symbol for Hope. Kyle warns that danger is lurking both on Earth and beyond it; "The Guardian wishes for me to warn you. You are the Earth's hope. This is why our destinies were to cross paths." Superman looks skeptical, and asks Kyle what he means by all of this, and who is he really. Kyle says all will be revealed, before disappearing in a flash of blue light. Metallo has been completed, and Corben is amazed to find that he now has a robotic body. Luthor meets him and refuses to unstrap him. He asks if John wants revenge of Superman; John whispers yes. Lex unstraps John, who stands tall above Lex. "You are Project Metallo. I give you life." John breaks out of S.T.A.R Labs in broad daylight, while Lex leaves in his private helicopter. Corben leaps across rooftops, telling for Superman, who appears. The begin battling, but Corben's chest plate opens, exposing Superman to Kryptonite radiation. Corben beats the hell from Superman, smashing the memorial in Heroes Park. A Kryptonite tipped blade slides out of Corben's mechanical forearm, but before he can kill Superman he is blasted backward by bright blue energy. Kyle Rayner, in full Blue Lantern gear, holds Metallo back as government helicopters arrive. Luthor is at his computer watching a live feed, and he types in a command to shut down the Metallo suit. Corben is suddenly paralyzed as his suit ceases movement, and Kyle and Superman disappear in a flash of blue light. Government officials detain Corben. Kyle and Clark materialize in the Fortress of Solitude; Kyle is in amazement, and says he "hasn't seen a Kryptonian Command Center in years." Superman is weakened, and Superman is put in a medical pod by the mechanized fortress. Superman awakens from the crystal pod, and finds Kyle exploring the Fortress, amazed at its enormity. Kyle says he's apart of an intergalactic police force known as the United Lantern Corps. Kyle represents the Blue Lantern division. Jor-El shows Clark his new Superman suit, which is more in line with the classic Superman, featuring brighter colors and a more bold symbol. Kyle and Superman fight and escaped Metallo, with Kyle trying to shield Superman from the Kryptonite, but Metallo blasts Kyle away with a discharge of energy from the suit. Superman is getting beaten badly, and Kyle concentrates, feeling the hope on this Earth; everyone watching, hoping that Superman can overcome; Kyle speaks the Blue Lantern oath and powers up, blasting Metallo into the sky. Superman flies up and catches John, who reveals the suit is a walking atomic bomb. The wire and machinery in his chest begin sparking as the Kryptonite glows brighter. Superman flies into the atmosphere, and the bomb explodes. The sun heals a zombie-like Superman, and he floats down to Earth. The Blue Lantern and Superman are hailed as heroes. Lex isn't persecuted for his actions, and it is ruled that Metallo was a project by rogue Superman hating STAR labs scientists. Lex watches news reports of Superman, and he sees how public opinion has turned. He shaves his head, and his assistant, Mercy Graves, approached him in his dark office, lit only by the occasional blast of lightning in the sky. "The alien..... will die." He says softly. He looks down at a Kryptonite ring in his hands, the green light glowing bright in his eye. In the post credits scene, Amanda Waller walks into Belle Reve prison and greets an incarcerated Harley Quinn.

Suicide Squad: The team is The Riddler, Captain Boomerang, Enchantress, Rick Flagg, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Killer Croc, Slipknot and Katana. The movie deals with a mission given by the government to stop Incubus, Enchantress's brother, from rising. Ancient texts reveal he is the herald of Trigon. Enchantress reluctantly locks him away in the end; only Squad member to die is Slipknot when his bomb explodes as he tries to escape. In the after credits scene, Amazonian warriors prepare for battle on Themiscyra.

Wonder Woman: In this story we see Diana foray into Man's World in order to gain intelligence on Ares, who has integrated himself into the modern world. He leads battleships to Themiscyra, and Diana finds out too late- she steals the private jet belonging to Ares' human personality. The jet is assaulted by Ares' forces, but she fights them off. However, the jet is damaged and begins descending. Diana breaks through the clouds and aims to crashing jet at Ares's battleships. There are four massive boats, and Ares flees as soon as Diana appears. Wonder Woman battles her way through the ships, taking down Ares' fleet in a massive badass scene. She steers a ruined ship to Themiscyra, and battles Ares. She beats him to the point where even the God of War begs for her to stop. Hippolyta imprisons Ares. An Amazonian seer predicts to end of existence due to a fool in Man's World, so Diana prepares to depart Themiscyra to stop this threat. In the after credits scene, police officers are frightened by the Batman, after coming upon one of the criminals he captured.

I would grab Snyder and force him to read (or watch on youtube) the best Superman source material I could find - which would include John Byrne's Man of Steel (which apparently did make some small contribution to MOS), Kingdom Come, All-Star Superman and the current Rebirth stuff (I don't know what the other books are like but Superman and Action comics are great, Superman as the world's greatest dad !). I figure if he can get his head around Superman then he might be able to get his head around the rest of the DC universe.

Anyway, if I didn't think he got the message I would fire his ass - or transfer him to some other project that didn't require the audience to give a **** about the characters.

Then, I'd go ape**** and:

-put Guillermo del Toro in charge of a Green Lantern corps movie,

-push back JL to 2018 and instead have a 2017 solo Superman film where Supes returns to life and saves the world from Brainiac, directed by

- Give the Russo brothers a billion dollars to make the 2 JL films, and if they still said no, offer the same deal to James Gunn.

- Let Affleck do his solo Batman thing, but with a lot less of Batman killing people, and then cast Nicolas Cage as Two-Face.

- Recast Gina Carano as Wonder Woman.

- Have another look at the Shazam film, and make it really kid-friendly - with Channing Tatum as a slightly goofy Captain Marvel and the best kid actor I could find to be the young version of Billy. Maybe even do a total 180 and cast the Rock as the adult Captain Marvel - I don't think he's got the acting chops to pull off a decent villain, but he could be a slightly goofy hero.

And that's just for starters.

A very brief overview:

Step one: hire film makers that truly understand these characters and why they have resonated with audiences for decades.

Step two: have said film makers knock out a story that is focused on the aforementioned characters in a way that properly humanizes them. Give us interactions and relationships that actually carry weight beyond vapid lip service. No more wordless montages of Superman looking dour while saving people, no more moments of Superman hovering over flood victims in slow-mo; show him not as an icon, but as a three-dimensional character that we can actually get behind and understand.

Step three: get rid of this sophomoric "gritty" tone that doesn't fit with the story and this universe. Just because you dress up your movie to look and feel more serious doesn't mean it actually is. It works with some characters, but not for the majority of the DC stable. Thankfully they appear to be heading in this direction already, albeit with Snyder at the helm.

No MOS. Reboot both Batman and Superman together in a team up movie released in 2014, with Wonder Woman showing up at the end. Release a Wonder Woman movie in the same year. Put Justice League out in 2015 with Darkseid as the villain. Maybe it can be a 2 parter. The Justice League roster is:

Batman
Superman
Wonder Woman
The Flash/Barry Allen
Green Lantern/John Stewart
Hawkgirl

Maybe make it in the same universe as the flarrowverse, but changes would have to be made with the shows in seasons 3 and 4 of arrow and a little bit in season 2 and a little bit in Supergirl, with that being made an official part of the flarrowverse from the beginning. Put out subsequent movies after that for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman etc.

Have a very great day! God bless you all!

I'm pretty sure Snyder has read a lot of comics.

He says as much, but these comments makes me wonder:

"I had a buddy who tried getting me into 'normal' comic books, but I was all like, no one is having sex or killing each other. This isn't really doing it for me. I was a little broken, that way. So when Watchmen came along, I was, this is more my scene."

"I kinda came to the conclusion also that they couldn't really talk in their suits with any credibility.... more than 4 or 5 lines and you start to notice, like wait, these are two guys ... one guys dressed up like a bat and the other has a big red 'S' on his chest, and they're being super serious about how mad they are at each other."

If I was in charge of the DCEU?

Oh, how I tire of this dream.

Burst onto the scene in 2011 with the first big budget black-led and female-led superhero films: Green Lantern (buddy cop action movie meets sci fi space saga)and Wonder Woman (Classical hero adventure mixed with classic hero origin story). Never address how this fits with TDK Trilogy, or Superman Returns or anything like that. It's all in the same Multiverse.

Follow that up with a shot-all-at-once Superman trilogy over the next few years accompanied by one-off smaller films for Aquaman, Zatanna, Shazam, and Cyborg and the big budget sequels to Wonder Woman and Green Lantern.

Take TV shows Arrow and Flash under the wing, to ensure the remain faithful and progressive high quality television, as opposed to devolving into self-serving soap operas. Instead of Supergirl (which I adore and would incorporate into the Sueprman films), make sure JSA, with similar quality, ends up on CBS to match it's core audience age and sensibilities. Add Vixen to the CW lineup as full time live action as the third series.

Have WB Games develop a AAA video game based on a DC property, using real actors and storyline that will be DCEU canon. Perhaps Hawkman and Hawkgirl as these sort of super warriors throughout time using a combat and control scheme not unlike that of Rocksteady's Batman games. This probably would hae to have started back in 2011 to hit in 2014-2015 at super high quality. Also launch a set of DCEU tie in cartoon series geared towards the kids. Perhaps a Plastic Man cartoon for 3 years, then maybe 3 years of LOSH: Friendship is Heroism. This process probably will need to start back in 2011 so that the cartoon and video games will hit their stride around now.

By the time we've reached 2017, we've got a universe absolutely choked full of superheroes, but they simply aren't all in the same Universe. Shoot Crisis on Infinite Earths as a trilogy all at once which here serves as the origin of the Justice League and a send up of every universe, from the DCAU with Conroy doing a live action version of his role in Batman Beyond to Tom Welling returning as the Superman of Earth-19, all in support of our central movie heroes, with Flash, Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Firestorm all making their way over from the CW. Superman would be a central character here, as the threequel is in a way a sequel to his own trilogy. Meanwhile, during this huge event, release one off films for other teams, such as Suicide Squad, Outsiders, and Justice League Dark.

This puts us in 2020 or 2021 at peak DCUniverse. It is understood and established that all of these heroes are just off having their own adventures at all times. Batman has been all through this, the Nick Fury of the Universe in some ways. Here, we unify all that into a super-high quality Batman show, like on HBO or something, using the actor from the movies. Really deep crazy cases, but still with the color of his villains and some brutal movie-level memorable martial arts combat. From here, you don't do 'team ups' you just do storylines, and work out what characters play in what movies based on the needs of the story and the availability of the actors. Generally, it becomes a comic book universe without the monthlies, and just composed of events and crossovers.

I would find someone with more excitement for the Superman character. I don't get him, and evidently Snyder doesn't get him - so I'd find someone that does and could approach it with the enthusiasm Affleck has for his "TG, TB & TU-esque Batman movie."

Overall, balancing the supernatural and the science fiction:

Supernatural forces like Trigon, Incubus etc were ushered into the physical plane by mankind's ancient ancestors to defend them against Darkseid's forces, the Atlanteans, and the Amazonians. Relics to their worship can still be found around the globe.

Justice League, Part I - Picks up after BvS; Superman appears in Apokolips and attempts to intervene in a civil war between some of the natives and Darkseid's forces. Steppenwolf, a New God who knows nothing but war, sees Superman as a threat to his purpose in life - that being, to make war. While Superman earns Darkseid's favor by seeking to establish peace between Darkseid and the renegades of Apokolips, Steppenwolf slips away to Earth, intending to seize the motherboxes. Batman and Wonder Woman assemble the JL and chase Steppenwolf to Apokolips, where they get involved in the civil war against Darkseid. In the end, the JL defeat Steppenwolf. Superman gets a message to the JL that all is well and that he will return in time - when he believes that his presence on Earth no longer threatens the planet that he thinks of as his second home.

Justice League, Part II - In the time between JL I and JL II, more metahumans have emerged: Killer Frost, Poison Ivy, Voltaic, Tattoo Man. In the infernal realms, the great demon Trigon has seized control of the Nightshade Realm and its fire-demon inhabitants. However, Trigon is unable to escape the infernal realms due to spells laid down long ago by the Succubus and Incubus. To that end - Trigon seeks the assistance of a rising anti-metahuman terrorist leader, Regulus, leader of the terrorist group Basilisk. Regulus breaks the seals imposed on Trigon - only to re-trap the demon lord with the assistance of Steppenwolf's motherboxes. The Justice League are drawn into a situation in which they must face the anti-metahuman sentiment in the world at large and deal with metahuman-on-human violence instigated by Regulus and the fire-demon minions he has seized with the use of Trigon's magic. At the head of these armies are beings Regulus engineered in his concentration camps through the use of dark magic involving the sacrifice of Trigon. Its apparent that Regulus's forces are augmented by Steppenwolf's motherboxes - and the JL quickly become the leaders of an anti-Basilisk resistance in a post-apocalyptic world that has been ravaged by Regulus. Darkseid, sensing the threat posed to him by Regulus and his demonic legions, gives Superman leave to return to Earth with an army of parademons to deal with Basilisk.

I would have the individual heroes' movies themed around the idea that they each have something to offer the world beyond their theatrical heroics - Aquaman as a capable military dictator, Wonder Woman as a political leader, Bruce as a philanthropist etc.

Dr. Cosmic, your idea for a DC Cinematic Universe is great! I actually gave it a similar thought. Since I really wanted a stand alone Superman trilogy the basis for a Crisis on Infinite Earths type of event would have been the key to integrate all of these different worlds into a Justice League world template.

I guess the key is that, unlike Marvel, DC wasn't worried with interconnected stories for their main characters, and they had their distinctive tone and theme. My only gripe would be that after the Crisis, a new Earth would be created to continue crossover adventures but allowing the previous distinctive earths to exists as parallel earths.

Justice League
New Gods
Suicide Squad
Dark Universe
Birds of Prey

Add Black Canary as the 7th JL member and change the Cyborg solo to a Black Canary solo. It could be a duel timeline storyline like The Debt or the next Die Hard movie with Drake in the past working with the JSA to fight a villain and Lance in the future being trained by the JSA to fight the same villain and avenge her mother. Then the sequel will introduce the Birds of Prey.

If I were made in charge of the DCEU my plan would be to reboot Superman in his own universe with his own solo adventures , separate from the world building WB is trying to do.

I'd want to have a Superman film which truly exploits Lois , Clark, and the supporting cast of characters and villains which haven't made it to the big screen yet.

I'd want it to have the tone closer to films like the Rocketeer and Indiana Jones, meaning , a more light and fun hearted adventure with snappy dialog. I'd keep both Kents alive, Jimmy Olsen alive and a teenager, Lois not knowing Clark is Superman, establishing the rivalry between Clark Kent and Lois Lane as journalists , and Lex Luthor as Metropolis's golden son, and a supporting character in the film as opposed to the big bad pulling the strings, and no kryptonite for the first film.

I'd want Livewire and Parasite as the villains as a sort of bonnie and clyde duo of metahuman villains in the first films with the film also featuring Morgan Edge as the head of the criminal organization intergang. I'd also like Maggie Sawyer to be established as a recurring role in the series.

I'd have the first film truly be a fish out of water type story for Clark Kent/Superman in Metropolis as opposed to a film showing the krypton origin, growing up in Smallville, etc. I'd want the Clark we are introduced to to already be a fully formed 27 year old who's already gone through the struggles , trials and tribulations we've seen the last three films deal with.

In other words, he's comfortable in his own skin, and this film would be the next step in his life and career as opposed to him being tortured about what he can do and what he may be . I'd leave the revelations about his heritage, krypton, the fortress etc for future films .

Well one thing I thought of, which was a very small idea but I thought a very good one if it is pulled off correctly.
When the FLASH is introduced into the DC universe he seems to me the choice to flex some comic muscle into DC movies.
Not in a overwhelming way though.

Think of this scene :

[Bedroom]

Flash in his civilian persona & a girl he is attracted to have sex off camera as its hinted at.

[She comes out of the bedroom in a bathrobe not much later smiling]

Girl : Wow. That was.......good. But kinda quick.

[camera pans to Flash's face and he winks to audience]

Thank you, BlueLightning!

I think, somewhere in my head the idea was to culminate the DCU as a team up of teams. The Flarrowverse 'Outsiders,' the Superman family, the Green Lantern Corps, the Amazons, all together in one big brouhaha. This then leverages the nostalgia that almost everyone has for *some* iteration of the DCU. Those 90s cartoons changed a lot of people's lives, I think.

There was a quote one time that some DC film producer made that their characters were 'bigger' and that's why they were so standalone, at the time. I think that's true to a degree. Superman has his own squad that's every bit as capable and developed as the Avengers. Batman has his own squad that can go toe to toe with the whole of SHIELD. The Green Lantern Corps is at least as big and deep as the X-Men. There's a LOT to go over there, thematically, and narratively.

Once that big crossover happens, and they are all united on the same Earth, I think their adventures should get less distinct. I think Civil War has already done that, as Captain America 3 was mostly an Avengers movie, and Thor3 is also a Hulk sequel. Similarly, but perhaps more progressively and aggressively, a Trinity movie could follow the Crisis trilogy, and perhaps a Brave and the Bold movie with Flash and Green Lantern teaming up famously. Perhaps a Sinestro Corps/War of Light/Darkest Night trilogy that may start with the GLs, but involves everyone next. Perhaps Zatanna goes up against Eclipso in DC's The Darkness Within, but she allies with Wonder Woman and Vixen as Eclipso takes control of Aquaman, Shazam and Superman, and perhaps that only involves a few weeks of shooting for those latter actors, but they're there, because it's all one big universe. That would be the one-up over the Marvel U, where there no longer is some strange reason why heroes don't help each other when the world is at stake. Additionally the one-up would be really awesome villains that in turn make the heroes look even cooler. The loss would be there isn't a lot of room for truly solo movies anymore. Certainly any character could be the central character in a movie, but every movie kinda becomes a Justice League movie.

Man of Steel sequel. Lois & Clark's wedding, either Lex as Brainiac or classic Brainiac. Supergirl/Powergirl suits up for first time to help Clark. I'd get Abrams for this as long as he'd play ball.

Deathstroke solo. The Good, Bad, & Ugly type of plot set in a war torn Himalayan nation. It'd be a redemption story for Slade where he has the choice of "completing the job" or saving his own murky soul. We see him evolve from anti-villain to anti-hero through the story. This type of film would be perfect for Snyder.

Either a Birds of Prey film with Black Canary, Katana, and Huntress. Or a Green Arrow/Black Canary film that's modern day retelling of Robin Hood. I'd get Patty Jenkins on either.

Justice League Dark as the horror/occult themed alternative to Justice League. John puts together the team to fight whoever is responsible for the return of Solomon Grundy. Wan for sure.

Red Hood/Batgirl film.

Just off top.

I could do without the fourthwall busting. But everything else sounds pretty good.

I'd also put Batman on HBO.

If I controlled the DCEU, I'd emphasize that each film should feel like its own complete movie, like a graphic novel. I don't want the movies to feel like episodes or installments. Don't get me wrong, it would still be a shared universe but I'd want each movie to feel like its own standalone epic that builds upon one another (like Nolan's Batman trilogy).

I would also reinforce that the films should not all feel like superhero films. The way we keep this genre alive is with variety and the DCEU slate should be filled with different types of genres of film. These are the titles I'd put on the slate:

Constantine : (Noir/ Supernatural)
Swamp Thing: (Horror)
I, Vampire: (Comedy/Horror)
The Flash (Action/ Adventure)
Blue Beetle/ Booster Gold ( Buddy Cop film)
Wonder Woman (Greek Mythological epic)
The Batman (Detective crime noir)
Justice League Dark (Supernatural/ Adventure team -up)
Justice League ( Superhero Action blockbuster)
Man of Tomorrow (Superhero Action blockbuster)

These are films I would focus on. I'd look to try adapting some of the more well known DC graphic novels from the Vertigo line as well like Sandman and Y the Last Man. I don't think every single member of the JL necessarily needs their own spinoff movie but...if the demand is there after they are introduced after JL who knows. ;P

I'm pretty sure Snyder has read a lot of comics. The problem is all he gets out of them is that they have cool fight scenes. The only solution is to get rid of him.

If he has read some comics, he sure as hell didn't understand them or what the characters were really about. Sad. After Man of Steel, I thought there was some hope for Snyder, but after B v S, I'm sure there isn't sad indeed.

I would also emphasize the Detective facet of Batman lore.
No one yet, to my liking at all, has captured on film Batman's detective mind.
Their answer to everything is him sitting before some super computer in the Batcave that spits out information to him.

What if there was a movie that treated Batman like the detective he really is?

Try this for an expanded explanation : http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?p=33962661#post33962661

Thats exactly why I would love for the next Batman film to be more of a detective noir film rather than a superhero action film. I mean, of course there should be action ( like badass hand to hand combat scenes) but I think it wouls be cool to see Batman as more of a detective that works with Gordon and the GCPD to solve unusual mysteries.

As far as the Batman solo goes, I would get Affleck and Geoff Johns off the project as director/writers.

"ZOMG! How can you say that about Affleck! He'll nail the script!"

Not really, no. I'm not really confident in Affleck understanding Batman after the way he defended BvS. For the most part he seems to not have had much problems with Snyder's vision, so I don't find him that trusting. That and Geoff Johns isn'tthe strongest Batman writer IMO.

As far as the other films go, I would make them more independent. They would still be in the same universe, but they wouldn't have that "everything is connected" thing Marvel has. That's kinda how DC was founded in the first place. It's also what would separate the DCEU creatively from the MCU.

Geoff Johns and Ben Affleck and Zac Snyder will continue to be the Captains steering the DCCU ship.
