If you could rid the world of one game...

Final Fantasy games just bore the hell out of meand there is always a new one that is proclaimed to be the best, seriously who cares anymore?

I'd have to agree. Bye-bye Final Fantasy.

Hello Megaman.

After thinking about it for a bit...I really would love to rid the world of all the horrible games that Ubisoft makes with words that end in a Z: Babyz, Petz, Dogz, Horsez, Monkeyz, Boobiez, Clownz, Hoboz, etc etc. :o

With a few exceptions, movie based games, they're all just quick cash-ins that completely suck because the team didn't have enough time to work on them. Some of the exceptions would be ET because it closed the door on Atari and opened the one for Nintendo and games made without the movie's released date in mind, like Goldeneye.

As for what to revive, item collecting platformers, like Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64. Loved the N64 for those games, just spending hours upon hours trying to find everything in a level, really made me feel like I got my money's worth. Too many games now are $60 and take less than 10 hours to complete, hate that.

I agree about the platformers. I am a huge fan of them, and I don't mind collectathon type platformers either. They are mindless fun and I usually have a blast with them.

Metal Gear Solid. Every fricken one of those games. Why? Where do I start?

Solid Snake is a rip-off of Snake Plissken, at least that's what the creator of MGS says. I hate cheap and obvious rip-offs.

Solid Snake has a mullet. Nuff said.

Too much cinema and not enough gameplay. And what little gameplay there is, is terrible.

The story is the most ******ed slammed together garbage I've ever seen. Giant robots? Check. Ninja cyborgs? Check. Fat guys on roller blades tossing bombs? Check. Every character having a name that only 10 year old kids think is cool but only come off as sophomoric. Big fat check.

In the cut scenes, the characters act way too over zealous. Tossing their hands in the air, point at everything as they talk, throwing their heads up and down for no apparent reason. It's weird, and goofy looking.

" ! " over peoples heads is not good gameplay. It is sloppy and lazy icon usage.

A MOVING BOX IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM PROBABLY HAS A GUY IN IT WITH A BAD HAIR CUT! :whatever:

WTF is up with enemies popping up out of nowhere? They like come right out of the ground!

But the thing that bugs me the most is how people talk about it like somehow it's this amazing game that does anything different. " YOU HAD TO PLUGZ IN YOURZ CONTROLLER IN THE OTHER PORT TO FIGHT THE BAD GUY!!" Yeah, there've been a couple of other games if not dozens that have done that before, and if not exactly that something just as clever if not more so.

It takes a bunch of goofy anima type themes (giant robots, ninja robots) and mixes it up with espionage and expects me to take it seriously. It comes off as Tom Clancy for 10 year old kids just getting off Pokemon.

Oh, and the graphics have always sucked. Even 4 looks terrible when compared to games like Mass Effect, Gears, Bio-Shock and others.

I own a PS3 and part of me hates it just because I know that if I put in a MG game it will be able to play it.

So if I had my way Metal Gear would be wipped off the face of the planet. But the good news is we'd still have Snake Plissken.

Oh, and revive "Conker" and the "Marvel vs Capcom" games.

Gears of War is an overrated POS and I want it gone. It has no plot and is just a clone of various games that came before it.

i knew there was a reason i liked you.
YAYYY!!!

:D

Oh, and Megaman Legends too. :o

Basically Capcom has **** tons of properities they need to revive or get off their ass and make sequels too.

Speaking of MM Legends, there was a thread where one of the Capcom guys made a post about MM9 coming to PSN. One of the ppl asked if Capcom were going to bring MM Legends to the PSN and he just said, "Hmmm....", where before he was giving all yes's and no's. He also dropped a few hints elsewhere, so atleast that's some hope lol.

Capcom's been stepping it up a little lately atleast. Alpha and Bionic Commando were a good start, and now MM9. They do have plenty of other good titles they need to revive tho, even if it's just putting them on the PSN and XBL stores.

Have you ever actually played a MGS game with an open mind from start to finish?

From start to finish? No. I've played parts from all though. But why would I finish a carton of milk I know has gone bad after I've tasted it? And what do you mean by open minded? Being ok with things that are terrible? I think I've been more than fair to try other parts of the game even though everyone I've tried is so terrible. It's a goofy game that thinks it's more clever than it is. It just comes off as really sophomoric. Everything about it. If I had to sum it up in one word it'd be sophomoroic.

lol...that is all.

To be honest...Halo. I'm sorry, but I just cannot stand it. I've played 1&2 and thought they were mediocre FPS's. However I hear non stop talk about how Halo is the best gaming experience ever, how it's just perfection personified. If getting rid of Halo would mean I'd never have to hear it be overhyped again, I'd gladly do it. You'd think Masterchief himself stepped off the screen and saved someones cat, then gave them a BJ, while simultaneously giving them a million dollars for how some ppl talk about it.

As for what I'd revive? I'm going to cheat and say RPG, and 2D gaming, tho neither is completely dead yet. I think those two genres have suffered this gen due to rising production costs.....guess I should follow the op's question tho heh....a game....I'd revive Streets of Rage. There are better choices, and games I care for more, but I'd love a good smash em up, online co-op, current gen Streets of Rage side scroller.

I agree my list is as follows for games i want to rid the world of....
Halo.I played it and honestly i didn't see what the big deal was.It did not make me want to run out and buy it so...CYA!!!
2.A little known SNES game called Power Moves. This is game was pure ****E!!! Piss poor gameplay, lame special moves, stupid street fighter rip-off characters and on top of that one of the characters in the game looks just like the father of one of my friends.Creepy.
3.GTA-Okay i admit i never played it but i know in the beginning it was reallly good(so i've heard from fans) but imo it just gets repetitive.I mean how many *****es and ho's can you kill, rape and maim before it gets old. It's also funny when they came out with the location based sequels.I'm sorry but WTF is the difference??? You're still shootin up whoever and violating prostitutes.
4.Shaq-Fu trust me you don't want me to explain why
5.Street Fighter The Movie.A garbage movie game based on an even worse movie.
6.Rise 2 The Resurrection. This completely idiotic fighting game starring these fruity robots with next to no combos, crappy graphics, trashy gameplay need i go on...
The games i would love to revive..
1.Streets of Rage. The best beat em up series i ever played.PERIOD!!!(or 2 lol)
2.Vectorman
3.Power Stone
4.Anybody here remember that Simpsons beat em up arcade game???
they should bring that back with next-gen on all consoles.
5.RIVAL SCHOOLS!!!!

lol...that is all.

I think I made some good points about why the game sucks. You didn't even try to refute any...

Maybe my points were too well made.:p

I remember reading a review that said the minigame you play while waiting for the game to load was more fun than the game itself.:D

It was. I forget the thread, but I remember listing that F4 game in one of my worst all time gaming experiences. I was so happy to get it, bring it over to a friends house for some co-op....sucked...bad. I remember my best friend actually going, "Awww..." when the racing mini game ended and the actual game started up. Which btw, the mini game was only there because loading time inbetween levels was 3-5 mins or so, so you had to play a mini game while you waited.

no, you made blanket statements and opinions stated strongly as if they were fact...there's really not point in debating someone so stubborn...especially on these here internets.

man i forgot all about that F4 game, *shudders* i use to have that
