300 was great. The fight scenes were good, the acting was good, and best of all it was R-rated. This movie will do well after word of mouth. The audience was cheering. I'm not going to go into any spoilers. Just a overall good movie.

10/10

i thought the movie was more like 300/300... HAR HAR HAR.... im kidding, yet somehow at the same time im serious. this movie was the best movie ive seen in long time, def better than anything ive seen so far this year.

as close to perfect as a movie can get..it still has flaws.. but the movie is too great to even notice them:wow: ... beyond great movie ..LOVED it..exceeded all my wildest expectations

First, I'm queer and and comfortable with my sexuality and even if I was straight that insult is pathetic at best. Second, yes, this is a sword and sandals epic so I expect to see spears and such. That doesn't mean that they didn't make the metaphor obvious. Plus, if you couldn't see the sexual attraction between Stelios and Astinos, then I don't know what to tell you. Third, I never once said this was a bad thing. I would've been pissed if it wasn't in there. This is a movie about Greece and the culture was homoerotic. I had more of a problem with their depiction of the Oracle, as it was incredibly inaccurate for the sake of what seems to be misogynistic satisfaction. Fourth, I liked the damn movie. I had fun, it was hot, it tickled the alpha-male in my prostrate. Why do you have a problem with the movie being homoerotic or hypersexualized?

P.S: It's called a question mark it's that key next to your right shift button.

That's the way I saw it and I'm a straight guy lol. It was just symbolism, it wasn't directly expressed in the movie, but knowing what I know about their culture it comes through. That was truly a man movie though, haven't seen a movie like this in a long time.

Also, I can't believe how packed the theaters were, the only showing we could get into was at 10:10 and even though we got in the theater at 9:30 it was already packed. It felt great too because the audience really got into the movie, cheering and clapping.

I can't express how much I liked the movie, I know it's not a masterpiece or anything, but it's a damn fine movie. You get your monies worth, that's for damn sure. After Dawn of the Dead and this, Zack Snyder is really making a name for himself. He's starting to become a director that you can depend on to make a good movie.

very impressive. the best war movie of its kind ever made. truely stunning, and awesome. highly reccomended.
I totally agree. This is quite simply the greatest movie about classic times ever made. One of the greatest movies ever made!

9/10
Negro, OUT!~

i agree with you on two things.

1.) who cares if some of em or even if all of em were into dude on dude loven. big deal, hah. its not going to change my sexuallity so i could care less. the whole thing with the two spartans was pretty obvious. even if it wasnt obvious to you, if go back to the scenes with em two and think about it, it rele isnt so far-fetched. back then, for guys to be into other guys wasnt a big deal. so why is it now, ppl should be able to do whatever n whoever they want.

2.) yer right about Zack Snyder making a name for himself, first with dawn of the dead and now 300. i cant say the same for a certain Mark Steven Johnson,at least not a GOOD name. the man who did a poor job on daredevil and did an even poorer job on Ghost Rider.
300>daredevil & ghostrider together

this movie is a 10 out of 10, my gf said she is going to tell everyone she knows to go see it cuz that's how amazing she thought the movie was. and also, again, saying the king dies is hardly a spoiler, you will read that in any read about these 3 days in that war, probably 90% of the reviews i read on yahoo stated that they lost that battle. why this is such a surprise to people i don't know. either way, i think this movie was amazing.

Awsome movie! The crowed cheered when his wife stabed you know who!
(don't want to give anything away)

Spartans were Greeks. The sexual slang word for anal sex is 'Greek', derived from the fact that Greeks practiced it so much, therefore Queen Gorgo must have taken it up the ,you know what, by that guys, the one who said she wouldn't enjoy it.. yes?

I wish some of you would shut up about the "Spoiler" stuff. When the word Martyrdom is used to describe a story, it is not a puppy dogs and playing children in the park type ending.

i got to see this last night, and more or less loved it... it had more than it's share of flaws, most to do with the dragging story, overuse of slow-motion where it wasn't needed to look 'artsty', and some (at times) awfully corny dialogue, but the awesome parts pretty much make up for them, but not completely excuse them.

overall, i give it an 8 out of 10. when the movie was awesome, it was damn awesome, and when it was boring, it was damn boring, and when it was corny, it was damn corny, but overall, the good outweighed the bad by a big margin.

Well, I saw it last night and I f**king loved it.

There is no other way I can put this than saying I. F**KING. LOVED. THIS. MOVIE.

It exceeded my expectations and I was completely drawn into the movie.

Also, :ninja:
When the Queen stabs that one Politician guy (forgot his name at the moment) the whole entire audience clapped. I was shocked because I have head of clapping when a movie is over, but the audience clapping at one scene in the entire movie left me in awe.

Overall, 10 out of MOTHER F**KING 10 :woot:

Saw this last night, but got back too late to post about it. I am keeping it short though.

I never read the graphic novel, but was tempted to for a while. 300 captures the mentality of Sparta very well. The movie carries a distinct style, and the actors do a great job in their roles. There are many great shots in the movie. but my favorite has to be when Leonidas is the last Spartan standing and the sky fills with arrows coming at him. Great shot. While this movie had one or two things I felt to be unnecessary (did we really need the Leonidas sex scene?), it was a great movie.

This and the new Spider-Man 3 trailer made for a great outing at the cinema.

"did we really need the Leonidas sex scene?"
- if it was in the comic, yes. if it wasn't in the comic, no.

This movie, is by far one of the best movies I have ever seen. It is my favourite comic book adaption. I can't even think of what to say. I just want to see it again...lol...I went yesterday at 1pm, and then I was going to go back at night (knowing it would be sold out)...I got there, and it was. And even though I had already seen it, I was dissapointed. lol.

I also started a slow clap when that back stabbing jerk got stabbed by the queen. hahaha.

Great movie! GREAT!

I haven't seen a movie in a LONG time that has made me feel like this movie. During the movie, I had to stop and think: "this is a movie"

If you forget that you are in a movie theatre, that usually means the movie is doing it's job. I forgot that there was life outside of that theatre. It had me SOOO into the movie, I forgot that I had to go to work after. lol. I know that sounds lame, but everyone has had to have seen a movie at least ONCE that has done that for them. And I can't even remember the last movie that made me feel like this. And I think I walked out of that theatre more manly than when I walked in...lol...

Regardless, it's still a spoiler. GSFOR should have posted a warning first.

Saying that finding out about Leonidas dying is a spoiler is ridiculous. It's history...it's fact...it happened. That's like if someone told you Jesus died in the Passion was a spoiler.

What a great film, better than Sin City. To cure the rest of March and April movie blues see this movie over & over until May.

I saw it yesterday.
I don't think I've ever seen a film like that. It was exactly what I wanted to see in an action film. Everything was brilliant, EVERYTHING. From the look(I loved how everything was sepia toned), the action (I loved how stuff would slow down, then speed up, then slow down gain), to the acting (Wenham deserves an award for his narration and the last speech), everything was exactly what I wanted.
Xerxes has to be one of the most evil villians I've ever seen. Everything about him just screamed "EVIL!".
I had a little tear for Astinos. I hope to see that actor in more stuff, he was cool.

a PERFECT movie. 10/10 had everything.... and more

and the music is to kill for.

Big fan of the movie.:up:

Although, when that guy riding the white horse cut off the Captain's son's head....where the hell did he go after that? lol

It's awesome to me that everyone seems to feel the same way I do about this movie.
That's a special thing that comes very rarely.
Snyder knocked this one out of the park.
I plan to see it again and again, and I plan to bring friends. and it looks like I'm not the only one.
This movie will do well at the BO.
I just hope that hollywood learns NOT to change the source material when they turn them into movies.

8/10

some melodramatic delivery and iffy narration aside, pretty much as entertaining as entertaining gets.

About the comoplaints, I think it is NOT groundbreaking as a film, but more as a style of digital filmmaking (which Sin City already did first). It was entertaining and great fight sequences, but the characters you didn't really connect to but overall it is a fun action flick. It is not amazing though, I think.

As for the hypersexual tones, I think it is just Frank and no I don't think it is homoerotic. I do think Miller is a mysoganist, which he continually shows in all his works, but you have to look past that. I mean in Sin City all the strong women are ****es dressed as ****s and the weak women are not and in this Queen Gorgo is strong but is falliable unlike her husband when she gives her body freely to the corrupt councilman and is thus weaker than the men, etc. Don't even mention the depiction of Spartan oracles in this movie/comic.

But I'm not offended, it is an artistic vision, that may not be kosher or correct, but it is damned entertaining and so is this movie. Oh well.

I am loving this movie, I've already seen it twice. It wasn't the greatest of all time, but it was the greatest of this comic book genre. I am torn between these two scene. I am talking about these visually stunning scenes.
the scene where he is still a young boy and he comes back after defeating the wolf.as they crown him.You know ,when he stand and the gurads are kneeling in front of him as the snow fall. That was beautiful. The second is in the end as Leonidas stands in front of his remaing spartan made into a ball as xerxes approaches. That was bad ass, no fears, no feeling. That scene was incredible. I love what he did as he died.
