IGN names TSSM the Best Animated Series of 2009!

yeah i hear the show is quite popular in Canada but i do really hope that if there is a third seasson it will debut in the US first. that way the a smaller number of fans will resort to that torrent thing!

^^ That's a great sign! MAybe that means we'll get a 3rd season Btw, I find FInal Curtain to be my favorite episode of all time, as I've said.

That particular episode made me reconsider my descision about who truly deserves to be Spidey's greatest foe. I used to think Venom was Spidey's arch-nemisis. But now he feels more like Spidey's rival. I used to hate GG, but NOW. He's 2nd favorite villain. I still like Venom the most for certain reasons. That's one of the reasons I don't want them to cancel the show, because I don't think any other show would handle Gobby the way Greg and co do.

It's funny because Wolverine and the X-men got renewed but Hasbro "Has no future plans" for the toyline which must mean it wasn't performing at the level they wanted to.By the way if you guys want to support the show and support a good cause why not buy a Spectacular Spidey toy and donate to Toys for tots? You'd be supporting Spidey as well as lighting a child's Christmas.
Great idea.

thats cool, and to me gg is the arch enemy of spidey. But i like pretty much any characters.

GG has always been my favorite spidey villain and my second-favorite is Mysterio! and i dont like Venom.

Love the avatar, Mister J!

And "Final Curtain" is my favorite episode! Enough changing some things, like making Montana Shocker & Tombstone the Big Man, kept me second guessing Gobby's id right to the end! And love that they remained faithful!

Mister J better not come around Tampa like that (2-12, baby!)

But this show deserves any awards it can get, plus one.

Man i so wish we had a season 3! :-(

Well picked by IGn, TSSM is probably the best comic adapted animated series since the hey day of the 90's animation boom.

well we still have no final word on the show's fate yet.

Whoa whoa whoa, source on that? And have they said anything about the future of TSSM's toyline? Just by looking at store supplies in my area I can tell that TSSM is selling WAY better.

I've been buying quite a few myself and donating them to charity. I also picked up some children's clothing. I suggest that you all scoop up as many as you can in the next couple of days!

well you got to remember that wiki, and its not always that reliable. now sure since we know on the 31st marvel and disney shareholders are having the meeting to finalize the merger, which is going to go through most likely. I doubt on that day we would hear for sure on the show's fate. i would think alot of business end stuff would be talked about first. Then in the coming weeks get down to the comics end of the company, and tv-film end of things.

Well, on the plus side, I've noticed that Disney XD seems to be playing Spectacular a lot more often and in blocks. Perhaps that's a good sign? :yay:

totally i caught 3 episodes on the other day or two when i was at my grandparents house.

There are also three more today! Keeping fingers crossed!

Yeah, I watch the blocks whenever I can. I caught the end of one today.

Lol I was watching Phineas and Ferb on DXD and wasn't even paying attention. Next thing I heard was Green Goblin laughing and I was like oh snap SSM's on! Lol.

(I just realized I'm 9 posts away from 1000).

where does it say there will be an announcement in January? I cant find it

no we are only hoping there is one in jan. Since the whole merger is getting completed on dec 31st. Though i serious doubt we would have any TSSM news within the first day or two of the merger completed. Since they will probably be busy hammering out other aspects of the company like the comics end, and marvel studios, then would probably get to the tv stuff. So i would say give it probably a few weeks after the merger is completed on when we have any thing.

IGN.com is reporting that the "Marvel-Disney merger is approved" and that "Marvel stockholders have voted to become Disney-owned subsidiary"

I just hope it will accelerate things at Marvel and Disney

up until last Friday, i have not seen a single episode of this show (i don't even know what channel it's on )

but i went to Target and picked up Season 1 based on word of mouth alone

let me say, i am glad i bought it!

i thought it would be tough to surpass the greatness of the 90s animated series, but Spectacular Spidey did it :yay:

great storylines, characters and villain origins
