From the PS3 Insider boards (Makaze-IGN):

So everybody wants to know what this game is all about, and we're going to tell you.

Friday, March 2 - IGN Weekly Special
We went to Incog, got access that nobody else did, received a metric ton of footage, and had a lot of fun.

Tuesday, March 6 -- Hands-on update + HD footage
Pretty much says it all. Look for it.

SWEET, I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SOME INFO ON THE GAME, THANKS ZEN!!! :D

P.S. I LOVE YOUR AVATAR, IT'S BEAUTIFULL!!!:O

Well this should make up for Weekly's absence last week, War hawk looks like a real winner to me, although not one that'll be shooting to the top of my want list any time soon.

That was never 100 percent confirmed but it seems likely. We'll see what Warhawk is tomorrow though, I'll be sure to post it. :p

- PSN Downloadable Title, Online Only.
- 32 Players are confirmed, they might increase it, but definitely won't decrease it.
- Maps are HUGE! Maybe bigger than Resistance Maps.
- All the match types are there: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Zone/Territory, etc etc...
- Deep Character and Vehicle Customization
- Dedicated Servers
- Will feature alot of Downloadable content: expect Expansion Packs, New Maps, Weapons, Vehicles and character skins.
- Controls configurations are great. You can turn SIXAXIS On or Off for Vehicles, Planes, or both...
- ALOT of Rewards and Medals that will keep the replay value alive and kicking.
- Voice IP Support.

Downloadable only? Now THAT's an awesome idea. I'll definately buy this up on a boring day then.

It kinda sucks that is online only, because I don't play alot of online.

How much is it going to cost?

It should be no more than $20 like tekken.

Loved the original warhawk! Dont know why it was never made for the PS2

Excellent! That's what this system needs, is a game that years from now when the servers are shut down the game is obsolete! Scrapping the single player campaign is BRILLIANT I tells ya! Now instead of having to deal with out-of-date ideas like "a plot" or "structured gaming that can be replayed", I get to play with people who will be more concerned about getting ribbons than having a good time! Even better, that promise about hundreds of ships onscreen at a time? NULL AND VOID! FAN-F**KING-TASTIC!

This was an anticipated title of mine, now it's off the list. Great job, Sony. It's a perfect time for you to be cutting down AAA exclusive titles to "something to waste time with". THAT'LL get you support. Lair better be worth it, because I'm already starting to feel a nagging regret with buying this system.

Keep in mind this is the Sony that is still running Socom I servers and everquest adventures. They never take their servers down like ever, and the game supports you hosting your own game peer to peer, so it won't just die if they ever cut the server support.

THe hundreds of ships on screen at a time was all the single player stuff.

I agree it sort of sucks to not get single player, but if the single player sucked that bad then it really sucked that bad.

From everything I read, half the team or something outrageous like that left development, which made them scrap single player. Nowhere was it mentioned that it sucked really hard. Either way, I definitely see sales being impacted by this.

You've really gotta wonder if the team is capable of creating a good multiplayer game though if they unable to create a good single player game. Seems like a lazy developer to me.
