I doubt it'll be Welling. IGN just posted their picks for JL. Interesting choice for Superman. never would have thought of it. Fox has a toughness in Lost. It could work. IMO WB has to not do Boy Scout Superman to make him click with audiences.

And did IGN seriously suggest Vin Diesel for Martian Manhunter? I don't care if they have an exclusive nude spread of Megan Fox, I'm never going to that site again :cmad:

Matthew Fox isn't bad. Just not really who I'd pick for Superman.

Jude Law? **** no. While the guy's a decent actor, he doesn't really scream 'dark avenger of the night', or someone who's trained for eighteen years to eradicate evil.

Kate Becksinale is kind of a cliche choice, but better than alot of names being tossed around.

Clive Owen doesn't strike me as Hal, but hell, seeing Clive Owen in a superhero film in itself would be worth it.

I'm with Matt on Vin Diesel. J'onn's supposed to be one of the smartest beings on the JLA. Nothing about Diesel warrants that demeanor whatsoever.

I think I'm the only one on Earth who is sick of hearing about Ryan Reynolds as The Flash. Not that he'd do bad in the role... I just wish there were other choices that couldn't have been seen coming from a mile away.

In any case, I don't agree with alot of it.

Nothing to do with MOS....close thread. Thank you very much, have a nice day.

Why are some many people so freaking anxious to get that skeezy Jude Law into a comic movie, any comic movie, apparently? :cmad: I hate his look. He is not superhero material. Grrrr .. I'm so sick of hearing his name brought up. :cmad:

you dont really believe this...do you?

IGN is suggesting actors for the likley JL film. I said I'd never thought of Fox but could actually see him in the role. IMO a tough guy is needed as Supes.

If JL is announced next week as Rob Sanchez suggests, the casting becomes a real topic. I do not think it will be Welling. I want an actor as good as the rest of the JL cast. Otherwise Superman can't be rejuvenated in JL IMO.

Yeah, I agree. I dunno though, if he beefed up he could make the older Superman work I think.

Jude Law? **** no. While the guy's a decent actor, he doesn't really scream 'dark avenger of the night', or someone who's trained for eighteen years to eradicate evil.

No one outside JCDC buys it...but Law would've made a brilliant Superman. There is something very alien about his face (particularly his eyes). His height doesn't really matter on a screen and he could've bulked up. It could've been amazing. If only...

Kate Beckinsale just isn't exotic enough to play WW in my eyes.

Clive Owen doesn't strike me as Hal, but hell, seeing Clive Owen in a superhero film in itself would be worth it.

Ain't that the truth.

I'm with Matt on Vin Diesel. J'onn's supposed to be one of the smartest beings on the JLA. Nothing about Diesel warrants that demeanor whatsoever.

Diesel would be perfect if they wanted to imply the martians were also descended of the apes...only not nearly as evolved

But isn't that like saying "I wish there was another choice for Batman" back when Bale's name was thrown around? If you have a perfect choice who nails what personifies the character like Reynolds or Bale, then why complain?

Point taken.

I actually haven't seen Blade: Trinity, so I should probably just keep mum on that anyway until I have. :o Maybe then, I'll be with it as much as everyone else is.

Ehhh. Casting is decent.

Not bad yes. I want an in your face Superman actor. Welling is not it to me. Fox could be, It'll probably be a total unknown. If he can act and get to audiences its all that's needed IMO.

Casting choices are just average, not great, not bad.

All of their choices suck.

Since you seem to have left the Halloween thread, can I ask you a bit of an off topic question Majik? How was Deborah not a prostitute? I thought it was pretty straight forward that she was giving sexual favors in exchange for money. I'm not being a smart ass, I just noticed you were in this thread and wanted to see if you interpreted it differently than I or what. So yeah, what is your basis for her not being one?

I think the same can be said of SR. I loved Hackman's Lex. Now I don't so much. Or Spacey's which was a copy of hackman. I'm DC all the way yet find the marvel movie villains more intriguing. Singer has a good eye for casting. Its just the mix I think he got wrong in SR. I'd rather seee a new Lex and Superman in JL than Spacey and Routh in MOS.

Oh, I'll answer it in there. I didn't really leave, I just been checkin my subsciptions of threads since I been gone.

"Dream Casting: Ryan Phillippe could certainly bring a cool edge to this character, who needs as much cool as he can get. Plus, Phillippe is the kind of actor who seems serious-minded enough about his work that he could imbibe some real emotion in to what is inevitably going to be a supporting part, but he's also not so expensive that it would be prohibitive to bring him into this cast. Plus, he's got the blond hair all sorted out already."

I don't think I've ever agreed with anything less than this. Ryan Philippe... would bring a cool edge to Aquaman?? No, what he would do would be to turn an already cool character into a total pansy.

Matthew Fox: Superman -- Possibly could work
Jude Law: Batman -- NO!
Kate Beckinsale: Wonder Woman -- Meh... nuh uh
Clive Owen: Green Lantern -- That's be pretty cool
Ryan Phillipe: Aquaman -- Er, not sure either way
Ryan Reynolds: Flash -- Maybe
Vin Diesel: Martian Manhunter -- Kill me now

Fox is intriguing. Let us hope WB comes up with an unexpected but great new Superman.
