Did anyone else think that Michael Keaton and Christian Bale literally sounded identical during their respective 'I'm Batman' iconic scene? Seriously, I can't choose a favorite between the two.

They sounded very much alike. The 'nice coat' thing rules out Bale's as the best for me though.

Yeah "nice coat" killed that scene and if it wasn't for Keaton's ad-lib that line wouldn't be so damn iconic so by default I side with Keats.

The Bale version is cooler because of the fight. Keaton looked ridiculous!

Keatons is cool and iconic, but i like Bales more, just cause he falls out of the sky when he says it, i try to ignore the "nice coat" right after.

Keaton's came off as cooler to me. Maybe because his was the original, and therefore the best for me. Also it wasn't followed by a silly 'Nice coat' line.

I like Keaton's because he demanded people tell stories about him, i mean just look at what he said leading up to it.

Batman: "I want you to tell all your friends about me"

Thug: "Who are you?"

Batman: *pulls him closer* "I'm Batman"

then he throws his ***** ass lol

Bale and Keaton were alot better than Clooney's "Hi Freeze, I'm Batman" I was like "no ****, are you really, THE BAT-MAN"

Both. I can't choose. I just love them both.
I think I'm the only person who likes the "Nice coat" line. :csad:

I pick Bale because it was totally bad ass.

I enjoyed the "nice coat" line as well.

I don't see the similarities between the two at all. I had a chance to look at B89 and BB back-to-back, and Bale clearly had the edge in terms of his voice being scarier/aggressive.

Keaton surprisingly had a very "normal" voice and his delivery was matter-of-fact. I think Keaton wins it though because he lets the lines and situations make the image of Batman for him, so he comes off as effortless.

I love both equally but I agree the "nice coat" line always pisses me off when I hear it, it kinda does ruin the iconic moment.

Keaton's all the way, and I agree the "nice coat" ruins that scene. The only thing I like better about Bale's is the headbutt.

Nice coat does seem a little out of place & dare I say it,corny, but I thought Bale was great when he said "I'm Batman" but for me it has to go for Keaton, that whole scene has stuck with me ever since I've seen it & Keaton delivered it perfectly.

Christian Bale
Michael Keaton
Val Kilmer ( I don't remember him saying "I'm Batman")
George Clooney "Hi Freeze... I"m Batman" {not well delivered)

I love the Riddler's rendition, when he's completely insane. "I'm....Batman-!!"

Say what you like about campiness, but you wouldn't want to go into that cell with him at Arkham.

Keaton. Too engraved in my head I guess. Plus, no "Nice Coat" ...

When I first watched BB back in 05, I couldn't tell what the purpose of that silly line was. Was it supposed to be funny? I remember some poster in here saying that the line represented "a pact with the underground" or something along those lines...

The point of 'nice coat' is threefold...

1. Funny because it's so unexpected.
2. Funny because it's the coat Bruce gave him.
3. It's Batman showing that as menacing as he is, he is actually rather nice towards the innocents of Gotham

Ah, I see. I like the last one.

I like the Batman Begin's one the best because it had some humor on it too with the nice coat.

The problem, is that I think it was an inappropriate time to flash around the humor card. This is the first introduction to Batman, and the line killed it somewhat.
