Comedy "I'm No Superman": The Scrubs Thread

Variety has learned exclusively that the new iteration of the beloved sitcom has added nine recurring guest stars. Among those are Vanessa Bayer (“Saturday Night Live,” “I Love That For You,” “Freakier Friday”) and Joel Kim Booster (“Fire Island,” “K-Pop: Demon Hunters,” “Loot”).

Bayer will play Sibby, who is described as someone who “runs a wellness program for faculty and staff at Sacred Heart Hospital.” Booster will play Dr. Eric Park, an attending at Sacred Heart.

In addition, both Robert Maschio (“Cougar Town,” “Men at Work”) and Phill Lewis (“Suite Life of Zack and Cody,” “The Suite Life on Deck”) will reprise their roles from the original series as Todd and Hooch respectively.

Joining the series as the new intern class will be: Ava Bunn (“A Man on the Inside,” “Five Star Weekend”) as Serena, Jacob Dudman (“The Choral,” “The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die”) as Asher, David Gridley (“The Last Ship,” “The Rookie”) as Blake, Layla Mohammadi (“The Persian Version,” “Lioness”) as Amara, and Amanda Morrow (“Mirrorland,” “The Devil Wears Prada 2”) as Dashana.

Gonna have me feeling like that iCarly meme…

I hope they can recapture the comedy and feel good vibe of the original run and that it wont feel like the last season which was just kinda.. ok.

No Neil Flynn? :(
I read a comment where someone said Zach Braff had confirmed he is in the reboot but considering how hush hush it's been maybe it's in a smaller role or as a guest?

Maybe. I'd also like to see Ken Jenkins return somehow, but he's 85 years old now and probably enjoying retirement.

I'm praying to every recorded god that this is good. The Med School spinoff was ****ing awful. Even Dr. Cox couldn't save it.

Such a bizarre decision all around. Clearly Bill wanted to do a spinoff, but ABC didn't.

I think taking a spin-off idea and slapping a “season 9” on it, especially after what a perfect ending the S8 finale was, probably hurt it… but I don’t think it was really spin-off worthy either. If Eliza Coupe was the central character, maybe, but idk.

I feel good about the new season, though. Objectionable CGI Stonehenge in the Ted Lasso finale aside, Lawrence and co. have been firing on all cylinders lately.

Don't remind me how Eliza was denied her flowers so many times. Happy Endings was too good.

I tried rewatching Scrubs a while ago, but i couldn't take it anymore after season 2. JD was a awful character and way too annoying then i remembered. I did rewatch season 9, and i have to say - I enjoyed it more.
My conclusion was - Scrubs was a great show for teenager and young adult, it was too childish. But after you enter your 30s all the things that wrong with the show become much more clear.
