Anyway, sorry guys, but the truth is schools boot students all the time for less. Basic rule of thumb: if you spent a night in jail and the school finds out about it, you're getting expelled. Especially in private colleges that care about their league reputation.

IF it ever happened to me... IF I ever said something racially derogetory to someone, I'd feel ashamed of it for the longest time.

It's like someone else said...it's the easiest thing to go for, because you know it will get a reaction. Of course if it's the reaction of you getting punched in the face you kinda asked for it :P

The point is, it's not nessicarily racism...it's like if you call someone a fat bastard or something, you are just taking something about them that they are probably sensitive to and using it.

My point is, that even if you wouldn't do it, others might. I have never done it, but I can understand why someone would. Im sure most decent people would feel ****ty and ashamed about it after too, but it doesn't make them a klan member..

I'm weird about having friends that would say anything racial at all(in seriousness). If my friends are supposed to be a reflection of my character b/c I keep them as company then I need to know that they feel the same way I do when it comes to respecting other races. Alcohol really is no excuse. You know what my friends and I do when we drink? We sing, dance, and pass out. Even when they've gotten into arguments, if one of them ever uttered a racial slur, we'd have to have a talk.

You're a tough spot SB. You're right to let him cool off for a week, then see what he's gonna do with his life now.

I think he got expelled, but no one will know for sure until next year. And I think "banana picker" is just what made it back here, I heard what he said could've been worse.
