A couple of things that weren't mentioned
1. Due to meeting the Spider-god, Peter's rotting corpse spews forth a new body (after dying from wounds from Morlun). Apparently, a once-in-the-liftime-deal allows a spider to molt, giving it a new body (this doesn't quite ACCURATELY describe this real life trait of spiders, who DO THIS ON A REGULAR BASIS) - an incompetent spider-god? Sure, why not?
2. Getting resurrected, Peter gets the following new powers:
A. An enhanced Spider-sense (well, he got this upgrade when he turned into a really big spider in a spectauclar spider-man (along with the bio-webshooters), I can't remember if it got enhanced AGAIN from this process)
B. The ability to see in the dark/low light vision - just like JMSs favorite 3rd level Dwarf fighter when he played Dungeones and Dragons in high school!
C. He can now feel vibrations on his web like a spider (whoopee - like it isn't hard for normal people to notice the same thing on a big rope thing like a hammok)
D. Stingers - apparently since "spiders will evolve them in the future", Peter can now pop out stingers-blade-things from his arms ("Hellow Norman, how do you like these, Bub?" *snikt*) - Stingers, just like in the spider-anatomically correct Shelob in Lord of the Rings! The same universe where JMS played his 3rd level dwarf fighter! Did he mention that he loves ale, has a special telepathic relationship with his magic +1 axe, and gets a bonus against Chaotic-Neutral spider creatures?! It's true!
E. He can now stick things anywhere on his body, not just his hands and feet! It's one of the most original, genius level concepts for Spidey to have had for the last few deca- I mean, introduced in this new storyline!
F. Cannibalsim galore- after Morlun shows up to the hospital to eat Peter, Peter temporarily mutates into an anthropomorphic spider (minus the extra arms, and not QUITE as gross as the man-Tarantula the Tarantual turned into in Amazing Spider-man during Roger Stern's run), stabs him with the stingers, then eats his head.
G. Mary Jane apparently gained a healing factor as a result of having sex with Wolverine (not really, but it makes more sense than the following)- she had her arm broken by Morlun and in the next issue of the crossover, it wasn't broken. JMS quite obnoxiously provided some B.S. answer to explain this in a manner that said F.U. to the readers... when it was a MAJOR screwup on THEIR part instead of fan nitpickery. This magic healing method by Tony Stark will probably be never mentioned again. After all, it's a deus ex machine that can only happen once in a lifetime as part of the spider's life cycl- nevermind.
