In Living Color may return to FOX

I hope they're able to bring back some of the old characters like the Men On Film and homeless Antoine and especially Homey The Clown but it won't be the same, aren't Damon Wayans and David Alan Grier nearing their late 40's?

This needs to be combined with the In Living Color May Return To Fox thread.

The Intros:

Season 1:

[YT]NzhyrsDOgOI[/YT]

Season 2:

[YT]b4YGjzoK8mo[/YT]

Season 3:

[YT]ataHNEclz44[/YT]

Season 4:

[YT]CAf9yTF9iPE&feature=related[/YT]

Season 5:

[YT]mhD4pAmwwfo&feature=related[/YT]

Not familar with a majority of the cast in Season Five outside of Jim Carrey, Tommy Davidson, Crystal Keymah (she was the mother on "That's So Raven"), Anne Marie Johnson (In the Heat of the Night), David Alan Grier and Alexandra Wentworth (the wife of George Steffanopolis and one of Oprah's BFF's).

Except for the white girl in seasons 1-3 and the Korean in season 3, everyone else from seasons 1-4 most of us know.

I don't think you'll see any of the original cast except for possible guest appearances for Carrey, Foxx, Davidson, Grier and the other Wayans (Kim, Damon, Shawn and Marlon). Maybe J.Lo too, but I don't know how she feels about her experience on that show.

Maybe Foxx will be asked to do the theme?

Also, I've always thought that Chris Rock was a better fit for this show than he was on Saturday Night Live.

Those intros for seasons 1-4 were so damn catchy and perfectly capture that spirit of the 90s...

bet the money was better on snl

Probably so. Rock back in the day though was a bit too urban for the show.

In Living Color will most likely make fun of Tyler Perry, his films and TV shows. Saturday Night Live can only make fun of Tyler Perry. In Living Color will also have black women who are funny and if they end up finding a few who are successful, odds are SNL will probably won't try it. SNL needs a black woman who is funny. Kinds of limits what they can do.

I Love the 90's - In Living Color

Damon should do this. The dude has had quite a few pilots that just haven't gone anywhere, and really, I'd much rather see him on something where he can go wild than on something watered down like My Wife and Kids.

Yep. His son would have probably been cast on this show though if he wasn't already on a TV series. Or at least he would have been an option.

Eh. He can pop in when/if he's free, but I like him right where he is on Happy Endings.

One thing worries about this: A new cast has the potential to just kill the fun of it.
As does the TV climate nowadays. Watching old skits and episodes of this show you can clearly tell it was before it's time with it's humor, but back then there were not so many parents associations and the ways to voice your stupidity were not as clear and loud.

I don't think that's going to be a problem if the plan is for them to fill the Mad TV timeslot. Mad TV got away with a lot of stuff they normally would not do in primetime. Same goes for Saturday Night Live. When SNL does go Primetime, it's usually their Election specials or their decade specials (such as Saturday Night Live in the 90's) and usually not very risque. Look at a recent Saturday Night Live hosted by Melissa McCarthy. The sketch she did where she played an old 1930's film star would have not been done had SNL been a primetime show due to the content of the sketch. Also, none of the SNL Digital Shorts that feature Lonely Island would have been played had SNL been a primetime show. But because of SNL's timeslot, they are able to play the Lonely Island videos.

Put In Living Color in the old Mad TV timeslot, I don't think it would be a problem. I think Fox is looking at a replacement for Mad TV. If it becomes a regular show, I think it's destined for the Mad TV timeslot.

I hope Bobby Lee gets involved with this cast. His crazy sensibilities would be ideal for this kind of show.

i remember he guest starred in a few episodes of In Living Color. i thought he was hilarious.

i can see everyone coming back for this except for J Lo. she probably thinks this sort of thing is beneath her. and personally, i hope she doesn't become involved. she just a random background dancer anyway.

This is coming back?

Sheesh, I knew J.Lo's career was in the crapper but I didn't think she was this desperate.

I did not even know this until today: Dancing with the Stars Judge Carrie Ann Inaba was one of the Fly Girls.

hopefully they'll make fun of soulja boy even though I can see them having him as a musical guest (blah!).. hopefully the performers will be diverse and progressive..don't just hop on the hot-artist bandwagon.. reach out to the avante-garde and the golden-age in urban music..

they'll be progressive by making fun of all things Tyler Perry. It's not like Saturday Night Live, where they can only do this to Tyler Perry:

I would love to see ILC back just so they could go after Tyler Perry with both hands, claws out, week after week.
