I'm a little shocked that Wal-Mart carried a fullscreen edition for TIH. I know that the choice is up to the consumer but why cheat yourself with fullscreen?
Why are studios still making these?
Many consumers are idiots.![]()
but as widescreen TVs are becoming more and more the norm now, so i see teh full screen versions dying out eventually also, just like the VHS. There was a market for it when all the TVs were still boxes. those tvs are weaning out, so will full screens.
A lot of the story is lost. There was a segment- I believe on AMC- where Martin Scorsese was talking about how much of it was lost, and as an example they showed footage from a musical where you couldn't even tell that there was someone in the background singing and going about her business. Fullscreen drastically alters the viewer's perception, which is a shame since it can also impact the viewer's opinion on the film.
EDIT: Here we go...
I wanted to pick up this DVD but the cover and the box just doesn't do it for me. Had it received a little bit of extra treatment (at least a slip cover or something) I may have picked it up.

I can't judge anyone's financial situation as to why one hasn't tech'ed-up but it's still criminal to purchase a film this epic and not be able to get the full spectacle of what it conveys because it's a fullscreen version.
This reminds me of a friend of mine that is so complacent with VHS, that by the time he wakes up to the DVD world, even blu-ray will have taken a backseat to something new.
He even had the audacity to ask a sales rep at Best Buy if they had TIH on tape. Stone age lazy!![]()
Plaese someone post a better picture! (cuz i don't have the dvd yet) http://www.**************.com/captain_america/the_first_avenger_captain_america/news/?a=4751
Has anyone transfered their Incredible Hulk digital copy of the movie over to Itunes yet? I did & for some reason it keeps speeding up & slowing down, anyone know what could be the problem? I also transfered it to my Ipod, but on there when you put it in either widescreen or fullscreen mode it crops off the sides of the picture no matter which setting you have it on.
Any estimates yet on sales?
