My friend was really drunk during Wolf Creek so we had to leave. Is it good? And I want to see The Man With The Screaming Brain and The Woods.

I loved The Man With The Screaming Brain. That said, it's not a good horror movie. In fact, there's nothing really scary about it. It's more of a comedy/action film.

The acting is shoddy, excluding Campbell, and you can definatly tell it's a low budget movie. But, if you're a Bruce fan and enjoy B movies you'll have a good time with it.

I advise you to wait for SciFi channel to show it. It's like their Cadillac.

I wanna see a horrow film with a low budget. Where people hurt themselves to get the shot. Anyone know of any?

Am I sick? :(

is Wolf Creek good

It's fantastic. Great cinematography, very realistic characters, it's disturbing as hell, and it has that great TCM-like atmosphere to it.

As for "Haute Tension was good until the ending," good God I get so sick of hearing that.

The ending isn't nearly as complicated as many choose to make it out to be. In fact it was established in the opening sequence, there are clues to it throughout the film, and it ties together quite nicely in the end when the truth is revealed.

is wolf creek good enough to buy

You already bought it silly!

I bought Abominable and Unhinged the other day. Abominable could have been a lot better, I cant stand when girls wear lipgloss in horror movies. They get thrown down stairs, chased through the woods, slapped in the face...yet at the end their lipgloss is still perfectly applied.

The editing in Unhinged made me want to cut myself, mainly in the beginning when theyre driving. I'm still not 100% on what the hell happened at the end of it.

If you truly want to be disturbed rent Cannibal Holocaust. It's from the 80's and for it's time it was a very graphic movie. So much so the director was taken to court because they believed that he actually killed the stars in it. By todays standards and desensitizing it's tame, but still has some good gore effects. Most disturbing is the actual killing of 3 animals. I refused to watch those scenes. Especially the turtle scene.

Holly, man with the screaming brain is a must for any bruce campbell fan. While not "amazing", it is a decent horror laugh...

What I find worst, is that i'm sure there are MANY low budget (but extremely well done) independant horror movies only available in festivals and the likes, from short to long movies.

Because if they do come out on dvd, usually it's because their rights have been bought and they are not independant anymore.

There are many horror festivals all around the world. Most movies in them suck, but when you are lucky, you find little gem few others will ever see.

And that is where, imo, you might find most of the real originality these days.

Fist half really made me question why my girlfriend was forcing me to watch it. The second half made for some great laughs, though. Stick till Bruce Campbell's brain is damaged. ;)

How was the monster design in abominable though ? I've been looking foward to it for that reason alone. Big Foots have the potential to make some of the coolest and best monsters designs there is, if done right, because of how close to a human they look.

(See the painting "Saturn" by Goya to see an exemple of what I mean)

No, that's "They Live." "Dead Alive" is a zombie movie from the early 90s directed by Peter Jackson.

No, man. It was really lame when its jaw wasn't unhinged.

It looked like a lumpy man with a wacky beard.
