I hear Chris Pratt is being linked to play Indiana Jones.

Thoughts? I can't describe how disappointed I was after watching Crystal SKull. A kick right below the belt.

I think Ford was interested in doing a 5th film, i think they should let the team end in style, and only after that reboot.

HAHA, now there's a new rumor it may be Robert Pattinson.:barf:

I'd love a series of high quality Indiana Jones video games set in the 40s or 50s. I'd prefer that to a movie almost. Ford could do voice work even.

No to a reboot and a definite NO to Chris Pratt.

Just tell a story about him when he was young with a new actor, then tell more stories. There's no reason to ever say that the other films never happened.

Indiana Jones & The Tomb Of Dracula or some other unexplained or unknown thing that Indy has encountered in his adventures. After transdimensional aliens anything is possible.

Why does everything need to be rebooted or reimagined nowadays? What the hell is wrong about leaving things in the past and keeping our memories of it pure, instead of ruining everything by running it into the ground with inferior reboots either starring the latest flash-in-the-pans (see Shia or the above mentioned Robert Pattinson), or dragging out 70 year old actors to play who they were when they were 30? Hollywood is truly creatively bankrupt nowadays.

Where ever you heard that rumor, they pranked you. Hard.

Nah it's a legitimate rumor going around. Joblo reported it yesterday.

They don't need to reboot. Just cast a younger person to play Indiana pre-Raiders. It's clear that he got into stuff before that film. I don't like it, but that beats the hell out of a reboot. We have to face it. Disney isn't going to let this property set. When Harrison is too old to play Indiana they will recast.

I wouldn't mind more stand alone Indiana Jones films, just as long as you don't redo the previous films.

And that rumor is obviously fake, reminds me of when many were angry because they thought the rumor of Justin Bieber replacing Paul Walker was true. Robert Pattinson isn't a bad actor, but he's the least fitting to play Indiana Jones, this trolling feeds from the internet's dislike for the Twilight series and Pattinson in general just for being part of it.

Exactly.

It's been set up for it and really the smartest way to continue the series without either pissing people off or losing the credibility.

Oh how about we leave the character as is...... and create something brand spanking new.

That has already happened, many other franchises follow this type of adventure film, and could be considered spiritual successors, like the Mummy rebooted series, National Treasure, Tomb Raider and Pirates of the Caribbean, the last two pretty much made something new, but in the end, many just complain that they want to see more Indiana Jones.

The last one was garbage and I was embarrassed I took my wife to see it (Her first Indiana film she has seen). In fact I told her I was sorry.

I suppose that film tried to pass the torch but failed big time especially to that tool LaBeouf.

Ford it obviously too old to do what he did in the other films, especially the wild stunts or fighting with men half his age.

IMO Hollywood has run out of Ideas. This in itself somewhat worries me.
What happens to a world when there is nothing new to make movies about, write books about, make songs about..

Anyways the last film should have properly dealt with casting a younger.. late 20's early 30's actor to take up the name "Indiana".

Just let it die now as I doubt the "awe/excitement/thrill" can be recreated anymore.

There's good new material. Under The Skin, Only Lovers Left and The Raid 2 are awesome. Plenty of original ideas and fresh material/Direction. People just don't talk about it (or care) like they do mainstream franchise properties. The majority of commercial flicks will always be something with a large fanbase. Blockbuster sequels, comic franchises, video games etc, it's what sells. Gonna be here for awhile...then reboot fro a new generation or nostalgic audiences. There's a way to do it and a way to **** it up.

Should be nothing wrong with having a new Indy flick imo. The character is easily worthy of more adventures. Pretty much exists for serials.

I still think it's a prank. Who the hell would take him as Indiana Jones seriously?

If Robert Pattinson is ever cast as Indiana Jones, someone will have to die.

Remember when they replaced Alec Baldwin with Harrison Ford after Hunt for Red October?

Then they went to Sum of All Fears with Ben Affleck?

Trying to find someone to replace Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones is like trying to push a square peg into a round hole.

I could see Pratt as Indy.

The way I see it, either recast the role or let it go. Ford is too old for it now. No need to remake Raiders or anything like that... Just go the James Bond route and have it be another adventure in the character's history.
