G'day. Looking to get the IF stuff, to my knowledge, it's broken into Prelude, Countdown, then IF itself. Is there a trade that collects all of this or to I get them individually? Thanks.

get them "individually" in trades: OMAC, Day of Vengence, Villians United, Rann/Thanagar War, Prelude to IC, Infinite Crisis, and its "companion" book...

...but if you're looking for quality books that tie into IC, get Green Lantern: Rebirth and Batman:Under the Hood vol.1...they both come b/f IC. Then, (although it's uneven) read Under the Hood vol.2 as your reading IC. And Wonder Woman: Mission's End too!

Basically the Batman related stuff should be fine. From the above link, I gather that OMAC, Prelude, Countdown and IF itself should be OK. Am I on the right track?

I haven't read all of Prulude to IC, but I don't think it's all that important. And Countdown is collected in The OMAC Project TPB, I believe.

One thing that's definitely very important to the whole story is Identity Crisis. So pick that up if you haven't already.

Will do. Thanks guys.

Why is identity crisis so importent for Infinite Crisis? I never really understood that.

Because it's the event that sparked all of the events of Infinite Crisis. Like the burning of the Reichstag for Nazi Germany. Only without Hitler.

Idenitity was the one where...

Batman had is memory erased by Zantana which led to him buliding this satelite thing right?

All four countdown minis (OMAC, Villains, etc)are pretty important to IC b/c they introduce the four areas of the DCU that are interwoven into IC. Without reading these books, IC wouldn't make as much sense, and therefore won't be as good of a read.

I gotta ask...what'd everyone think Of Phil Jimenez's work in that book? I thought it was great....

But what's the order for reading them? Do I read the four minis before the Inifinite Crisis TPB, after IC, during...what's the correct chronological order?

I thought it was his BEST work!

All four come b/f and end right at the beginning of IC!

Honestly, the BEST way to read them is together. Start with Countdown to IC in theOMAC trade. It has to come first. Then go with "OMAC" and "Day of Vengence." Read the first two issues/chapters of each of those, then start Rann/Thanagar and Villians United.

I say read two issues at a time of each one in that order. You should finish OMAC first, then Day, Rann, and Villain at about the same time. And the end of Rann & Villain will take you directly into IC...

OH SHOOT!!! You also need to stop EVERYTHING right now, and go buy "JLA: Crisis of Conscience" It is THE key tie-in book....we forgot all about that one!

I know it sounds like a lot but it is worth it! You'll also want to read one issue of JLA:CoC in between these books, culminating with the last issue of it when you read the last issue of Villains: those two should come last!

It's just not everyone has the time, money, or interest to buy 10 different TPBs for one event. If they can do it, great, but y'don't want to scare people away.

It's not really an "event" if you don't submerge yourself into the DCU from all sides.

Normally I would COMPLETELY agree. I've dropped out of events b/f and for good reason. But if a person can afford to get hooked into Infinite Crisis, it's worth it in my opinion.

I THINK THAT ADAM STRANGE: PLANET HEIST AND GREEN LANTERN: REBIRTH ARE ALSO EVENTS THAT SHOULD BE INCLUDED WITH IDENTITY CRISIS. THE EVENTS OF PLANET HEIST LED TO THE RANN-THANAGAR WAR AND GREEN LANTERN: REBIRTH LED TO THE SPECTRE LOSING HIS HOST (DAY OF VENGEANCE). IDENTITY CRISIS JUST LED TO THE OMAC PROJECT AND VILLAINS UNITED, AND INDIRECTLY, DAY OF VENGEANCE. :meow:

Agreed. But, again, some people are only interested in the Batman side of it, some people want this, that, or whatever. But really the main two things to understand the basic story to the whole thing is Identity Crisis and Infinite Crisis.

Oh, I agree. If you can afford it, there's tons of great IC-related stories you could/should read.

...why are you posting in caps?

Which is me. Maybe down the road I'll fill in the gaps but now I'm just filling in my Batman back catalouge. So for that OMAC and IC are good? Damn this is confusing LOL.

Identity Crisis, OMAC, and Infinite Crisis, yeah.

Don't buy IC then. Read OMAC and Under the hood, and SEE if you're pulled into the IC web from there. Don't spoil IC b/c a lot of it is based on mystery and plot threads finally coming together from the 4 minis and other books.

Don't read IC if you JUST want Batman. Find some other Batbooks, there are plenty of them out there.

Dude...shut up. God knows, I read every single IC-related thing there was - and loved all of it - but let people whatever the hell they want to read.
