First Look: Inglorious Bastards Farmhouse (Yes, a Big Deal!)

If you’ve read the script, admit it: you’re friggin’ giddy over a farmhouse photo. The beauty of Tarantino is that the man is a perfectionist, a mad hatter for realizing violent fairy tales that make reality his gimpy *****. The Quentin Tarantino Archives has the first shots of the newly constructed French farmhouse that will open Inglorious Bastards in a soon-to-be-classic and nail-biting fashion. The window on the far right will presumably frame and foreshadow a future showdown between the female main character and the Jew Hunter. Smell the glove!

Apparently the title’s spelling is not changing: Inglourious Basterds it is. We feel for the theater employees who have to add a “[sic]” to the marquee.

That first scene on the farm house was just straight out of a spaghetti western. Like the scene with Lee van Cleef visiting the unfortunate family in TGTBATU, but with Nazi's. Can't wait to see it.

So it's spelled "Basterds?" Oh, I'll have to really curb my Grammar Nazi side for this one.

Tarantino can't spell, and if that's his hand writing, it's really bad.

Has it occurred to you guys that maybe, just maybe, the title on that sheet was misspelled because it was written by someone who didn't speak English? They are filming in France, are they not?

In the script the title is mispelled the exact same way..written by Tarentino obviously, so there's a possibility, I guess, that it could be intentional?

“Let me introduce you to the principal Basterd, the head honcho Basterd, most Inglourious of all Basterds, Lt. Aldo Raine. We’ve got a first look at Brad Pitt in full resistance fighter gear for you… This is a hillbilly straight from the mountains of Tennessee, a man with a scar around his neck that “will never once be mentioned,” this is Brad Pitt in one hundred percent Quentin Tarantino Nazi-scalping business.”

First Look: Brad Pitt in Inglourious Basterds

Empire Magazine brings us a first look at Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds (yes, correct misspelling). In the film, Pitt plays Lt. Aldo Rain (aka Aldo The Apache), a leader of a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as “the basterds” (hence the title). Accompanied by German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger), the squad is on a mission to track down, scalp, and viciously kill Nazis in an attempt to spread fear among the Third Reich. Rain is a Tennessee mountain hillbilly, and has a large scar on his neck (seen in the photo), rumored to be the result of a lynching. The film is currently in production in Germany.

Germany.

I didn't realise Pitt was in this.

Also Basterds? what a ****ing ******, now all the mags are going to be going (yes that is the right way the film is spelt) He should turn his spell checker on

yeah i thought that, so I ran it through freetranslation.com and nothing came up. Im sure its something like that, but the title was most certainly written by QT

Pitt looks cool

That's pretty much how I imagined him in this film. But I'm looking forward to this.

That's the title of the movie. The spelling is intentional.

That part where it says Inglourious Basterds is copied from the script. By the way, he didnt just mispell Bastards. He mispelled Inglorious too.

How much ecstasy was Quentin Tarantino on when he decided to change a perfectly spelled, perfect title into a questionable, seemingly ridiculous and misspelled one?
