I'm probably seeing this again upcoming wednesday. Which is pretty unique, since the only movies that I've watched in theatre twice are Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

Gooood. But damn, why is that turd Final Destination still at number 1?

Because its 3D. And gore is always better if its in your face.

No matter if the movie is ****. Which it was btw. GORE FTW!

Except that pool scene. That was just nasty.

Is there any chance of the DVD version of the film having a no subtitle option? I'd love to watch it clean.

Finally saw this movie and overall I got mixed feelings about this movie. Some scenes were really sad and powerful especially in the beginning. While other scenes were totally outrageous!!! I know it QT but WWII should not be taken as a joke...

I would hardly say it's taken as a joke. Just because Tarantino doesn't present the war in a way that audiences are familiar with does not mean he doesn't take it seriously.

Saw it a second time today. It's a movie that's good enough to catch twice in theatres, especially because seeing it in a theatre really adds an ironic layer to the final sequence. Ofcourse, it's still enjoyable on a second viewing, some of the suspense even remains because of the great way it's shot and edited. It's probably QT's most tight movie, with very few flab on it, actually it's the anti-Death proof in every conceivable way. Entertaining dialouge that actually drives the plot forward and great memorable characters. For a two and a half hour movie there are exceptionally few scenes, I would say no more than twenty, which is unusual. We have been blessed with great cinematic villains these last years and Watlz's Landa can take his place in line with Bardem's Chigurg and Ledger's Joker. Landa is portrayed in such an unconventinal way, with his at times childlike glee (he really has a remarkable face, both droll and threatening) and through-the-teeth flattery and politeness. I also think that the turn his character takes towards the end is a very surprising and bold one.

I may try and catch this for a 2nd time next week, it will be either this or District 9 again next week and that depends on what I think of District 9 tonight.

saw this today GREAT flick.. loved everything about it..

one complaint.. needed more BASTERDS... but it was just superb

Universal is releasing IB on DVD and Blu-ray, and usually they keep subtitles burned in. It's Sony and Fox who make originally-burned in subtitles optional on the DVD.

I'm probably late on this, but did everybody notice that the first Nazi that is explicitly scalped on screen is a dummy of Quentin Tarantino? That's probably the best part he has played in his own films so far. :p

And the funniest scene to me is probably the first Hitler scene. I think the way Hitler speaks and the replies of his two minions are just absurdly hilarious. ''Aber Führer, kein mensch glaubt doch wirklich das der BerenJude ein Golem ist?'' :applaud

FINALLY got to see this film. I must say it is far far better than I thought it would be. It is a far more serious movie than the trailers make it out to be. Theres not much more I can say that hasn't been said tons. The soundtrack was a weird mix but totally worked. The acting was superb.

Tarantino made masterful uses of tension in this film IMHO. Some of those scenes were pulled so tight and naibitingly tense. It was like a demented episode of The Office with Nazis. (which is funny considering it has BJ novak lol)

If Christoph Waltz doesn't at least get nominated for Best Supporting Actor, I give up hope on the Academy Awards.

Also It may have just coincidence but knowing tarantino I doubt it was: In the illfated bar basement scene when they are playing the drinking game where they have to guesse what famous person or character is written on the card on their for heads, the nazi major get king kong. The first thing that popped into my head was Major King Kong from dr. strangelove. like I said it may just be coincidence but its something I noticed.

this is kind of off-topic, but did anyone else think "James Bond" when Michael Fassbender was on screen?

i could see it happening, and if you saw my post in the bond23 thread, he looks exactly like this old drawing of bond based off of flemings direct discription

Yeah, but a pure kind of Bond, straight out of Flemmings' novels. If he ever plays Bond it would have to take place in the 1950's.

that's pretty interesting about the Bond thing, Considering Tarantino wanted to make Casino Royale.

If Tarantino made CR, we probably would of gotten a 20 minute monologue of Bond explaining how he got his 00 status. :funny:
