Instead of killing Jean, why couldnt Logan

inject her with ther cure to keep her alive
She would destroy the cure needles...like his skin and clothing. Unless he swallowed them...released them with a bowel movement...and then STABBED HER!

if logans shirt was destroyed...why wasn't his pants??? :p

Scientifically speaking, when his blood got spray on his pants it embedded itself into the material thus making it the world's strongest pair of pants next to a pair of Guess. Meh.

Seriously, we all know why. I've seen it happen outside of the movie also.

Pg 13...but I am sure a lot of girlies where out there yelling for it to happen:)

Well his pants were partially torn off...and to use the cure would've been risky:

Best case scenerio: He hides the cure and injects her in the final moments...

Worst case scenerio: Phoenix destroys the cure injections as she did Logans uniform and partial pants...

Worstest :-)P) case scenerio: Phoenix takes control of the cure injections ala telekenisis and injects Logan with the cure herself...essentially killing Logan and the rest of the world...

Logan did the right thing taking her on solo...

Flawed as the ending was, it was still more dramatic for Wolverine to have killed Jean/Phoenix by his own hands, so to speak, rather than injecting her with the cure.

Wolverine stabbing Jean/Phoenix with the cure rather than stabbing her with his claws would've made what should be the climactic moment of the movie a whole lot weaker. And after that - what? Jean gets cured then becomes a nut case because she remembers all the people she killed, including the man she loved?

There may have been a thousand and one "better" endings to this last installment, but between Logan stabbing Jean to death and Logan just simply stabbing her with a syringe, I'd take the former.

Hehe...you're right. It really seemed like his pants would be off too. I was really disappointed when it didn't happen :( If his skin could come off why, couldn’t his pants??? How come they showed naked Mystique in human form and not Logan? PG-13 for sure

Lol, back to the topic, Jean would’ve easily disintegrated the cure syringe like Logan’s clothes if he tried that. :ghost: And as Baredevil said: 'It was still more dramatic for Wolverine to have killed Jean/Phoenix by his own hands, so to speak, rather than injecting her with the cure.' :)

Talking of the ending with Jean, I had a thought yesterday. Couldn't Colossus is his metalform been able to withstand the demolecurisation? In line with the whole Wolvie's skeleton withstanding it.

I don't think Colossus' armor was made of adamantium, like Wolvie's are, and correct me if i'm wrong, but in the X-Universe, adamantium is virtually indestructible (except in its liquid form, methinks).

I did think of that as well.

You had to have the big shock death at the end.

It would have been a bit anti-climactic to have injected Jean with the cure.

But then it wouldn't have solved anything really, because as we have seen, the cure probably isn't permanent. So she would get all of her power back eventually.

Plus, if they did cure her, it would only take away her power. Jean would still be schizophrenic.

Colossus is organic steel. No he would not survive. The only reason Logan survived was A) Jean held back and really didn't want to kill him. B) They amped Wolverines powers ubar bad.

In the novel of the movie, it apparently states that when Phoenix powers up, she amplifies the powers of mutants in her vicinity. I don't know for usre though as I haven't read it, I only saw somebody post it here somewhere.

there were butt shots of bana in the hulk, the ratings allow for butt shots...

no need for his trousers...

It does indeed say that she amplifies the powers of mutants. I'd have liked to see an amped-up Storm take her on!

I'd imagine a cure dart would vaporise before it got to her, as she managed to turn all the ones fired behind her into dust.

having something be indestructible has no bearing on being able to demolecularise it. Especially in terms of a character who is described as being able to do anything...
