Vader thought he was doing good when he killed the *gasp* younglings! :csad:

How many people who voted "damn right" have actually been to Ireland??

Eh? Eh??

Yes how dare they be passionate about something that they haven't fully immersed themselves it.

I can honestly tell you that you are wrong there... I know plenty of people who are called Paddy and I'm from Ireland... 100% Irish born and bred

It depends on the context. If a guys actual name is Paddy, then it is fine. If someone says something like " I hate those Paddy bastards", then that is offensive.

Depends on the context. Paddy has been used many times as a derogetory word.

i'm not Irish, but i wouldn't mind having some Irish in me if you know what i mean...
*nudge*
eh?
ehhhh?!?!

LOL! That is a running joke with my wife (who is of Dominican descent) and myself. "Hey, honey....have any Irish in ya? Want some?" :D

100% Irish here. I live in Limerick in the south.

Yeah, but isn't it like one of those things a fellow Irish person can do but not anyone else? Because in general, its a derogatory term started by the English.

Well, I'm proud to be a paddy. I don't think its an insult.

Damn math. That's why I have an accountant! :woot:

So are you full of Irish pride or 1/2 full? :yay:

I'd be full of pride if I wasn't full or rice right now.

Because blacks are minorties and they feel like they have to speak to be known, the Irish on the other hand have done many, many great things for America.People know this,so this does not really have to be mentioned.

I love hoy Jourm posts **** like this and then never returns to the thread :whatever:

I have never been offended by being calleda paddy. I'd rather someone address my by yelling 'Oi! Paddy!' at me than 'You with the ****'

"You, with the ****"

Hahahaha. Tell me that's never happened. If so, I apologize for penises everywhere :D

Its happened. I think the full line was 'Oi! You with the ****! You left yer coat behind!'

Oh boy, wonder if you could get away with that here in the States....

*Spoons in prison for verbal assault thread coming soon*

Oh, I'm so sorry I don't have the money to go to Ireland like I want to. I guess that makes me even less Irish. How stupid of me to be proud of my heritage. :whatever:

I have a reasonable amount of Irish pride, since my dad's side of the family is a direct line to the O'Hallarans. My mom's side was Austrian/English mix, so I can't go too crazy with the "Erin Go Brough", but I do have a legitimate ancestral reason to knock back a few on St Patty's day.

It's "braugh" or "bragh." :o

See, that was that damn Austrian part of me misspelling that.

Jeez, everyone on the hype is so serious!

Yeah, because its okay to make insulting implications and then act ******ed when you're called on it.

I've lived out there, although only while I was very small. After I was born my parents went to live with my grandmother for a while, because they couldn't cope on their own. After a few years, grandma helped them buy a house, to get rid of them.

grand ma was 1/4 eyes are amber... I'm claimin it :o
