Voted 'other'; my choice would be Gary Daniels.

Do the character justice and give the role to someone who can actually do kick-ass martial arts conviningly on screen.

Obviously everyone is forgetting that Iron Fist is a MARTIAL ARTS MOVIE! And although Ryan Gosling is a great actor, he's no martial artist! That's like saying that Leo DiCaprio would be a good Captain America. Sure, if there was no action. The perfect choice for Danny Rand is Jason Statham! He's got the acting chops: SNATCH, LONDON, REVOLVER, THE BANK JOB. And he's got the action ability. Doing all of his own stunts: TRANSPORTER 1,2 & 3, WAR, CRANK, DEATH RACE. This guys perfect. And not too mention, Luke Cage. A big physical street wise brawler, Tyrese Gibson. Forget he was ever an R & B singer and look at his roles: BABY BOY, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS, TRANSFORMERS, DEATH RACE. These guys already have on screen chemistry. The whole time i was watching DEATH RACE in the theater i kept saying, dammit, these guys are HEROES FOR HIRE!!! Marvel's hit 4 homerun casting calls so far with Hugh Jackman(Wloverine), Tobey Maguire(Spiderman), Edward Norton(Hulk), and Robert Downey Jr(Iron Man). These 2 are perfect for the roles. Lets see it made Marvel!

Jason Statham as Danny Rand the Immortal Iron Fist.
Tyrese as Luke Cage!

Obviously you forget that actors have to actually ACT. Tyrese cant act his way out of a paper bag and Statham is one trick pony (albeit its a good trick).

Ultimately, the priority of casting these guys shouldnt be on who can do a high kick.

What's to say Gosling can't learn martial arts?

THANK YOU. Everybody wants Tyrese or Terry Crewes to be Luke Cage because they're both big, muscular and black, but they are both horrible horrible horrible actors. Henry Simmons for Luke Cage, I haven't seen that Charlie Hunnam dude in anything but he definitely looks the part.

Simmons will work for Cage, in fact I think he'll work hard.

My personal choice for Danny Rand: Sean Faris (Never Back Down). I know, it's type casting, but he actually convinced me as a martial artist.

Shang Chi: Tony Jaa
Jet Li and Chow Yun-Fat have aged out of this part, and while I am sure that there are some prime successors waiting in the wings in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China, and Singapore, they have yet to be called to my attention.

Do you really want to wait 3 years to do it right, or would you rather it looked like the '70s TV version of Spider-Man?

Damon learned martial arts for Bourne. Gosling is a great actor and I personally think he has the correct attitude for Danny. I think Gosling could be trained and I always say they could do what they did with the Bourne movies (most noticable Ultimatum) as far as fight sequences. Slow down the fighting while filming, then speed it up with technology to make it look intense.

I believe it's possible.

Also, i'm throwing it in there, I'd cast Olivia Wilde as Collen Wing.

Hunnam is definitely my top choice, but I'll throw out Mark-Paul Gosselaar as a wild card:

Jason Statham as Danny Rand the Immortal Iron Fist.
Tyrese as Luke Cage!

Jason Statham should not be cast as the following characters. Captain America, Green Lantern, Daredevil, Thor or Iron Fist. Hell I would argue against him being cast as Captain Britain.

Specifically Jason Statham is too old and too buff to play Danny Rand. I haven't seen him play anything but a tough guy. Part of Rand's appeal is he comes off as kind of pure and naive. Not a thug. I don't see Statham pulling that off.

Tyrese is just a really bad actor. Keep him away from any Marvel property.

Altought I would have like Ray Park. I f not I would say Channing Tatum (Playing Duke in GIJOE).

Shang Chi: Tony Jaa

It's too bad that he can't pass for Chinese if his life depended on it and his voice makes Mickey Mouse sound like Vin Diesel.

I say Will Yun Lee (yeah, I don't care that he was in Elektra. :oldrazz:). Either him or Donnie Yen (Yes, I know. Blade II, but did he even get to talk in that movie?).

Will Yun Lee = friggin' awesome.

I dig the idea of him as Shang Chi. Elektra's basically been forgotten by everyone so I don't think his playing a Marvel character already would be a problem.

Anyone have any suggestions for Misty?

Gosling's 28 which is good.

So far I think Olivia would work as Collen and Ken Watanabe for Lei Kung.

Gosling rejects the offer to play in Green Lantern as Hal Jordan. Green Lantern, which is supposed to be a lot more famous than Iron Fist. The cause is he doesn't like to act in comic film. Now things can change if the economy is that bad but for the time being Gosling is a distant possibility.

Yeah he'd still be great. I really wanted him for GL.

Anything's possible....Marvel likes to cast big names for their heroes. Gosling's just as big a name plus he was Oscar nominated. I think he as everything it takes to take on Danny Rand. Plus lets not forget people have hoped for certain actors for roles and they eventually got cast. I'm sticking with my choice of Gosling.

Anyone know how to make a petition?

lee pace from tarsem's "the fall". he was excellent in that movie. no ray park, he's a terrible actor. I must say i would do without a standalone iron fist movie and do a daredevil/iron fist marvel team-up movie. matthew fox as daredevil.

Scott Adkins for Iron fist... the way marvel is low balling actors i doubt iron fist budget will be over $50-60 mill whenever they get to it. So a C level actor will due, ESPECIALLY one who is excellent in martial arts already and by 2011 he will be a B-list actor by then (when it will probably be green lit). He has Ninja coming out this year, he plays weapon X1 in Wolverine: Origins, plus he has a part in Stallone's upcoming Expendables...
