Iron Fist Iron Fist Casting Thread

Michael Stahl-David. The guy from Cloverfield.

Michael Roark for Iron Fist!!!!!!!!!!! He's a great actor, is an up-and-coming name (in the same vein as Cox and Colter), is 32 (Marvel usually casts their hero protagonists around that age) and looks exactly like Danny Rand in the comics.

He would be pretty cool actually. He definitely has a ton of charisma

He's got the geek cred too. I could see him and Coulter with good on screen chemistry. I wish they would just go ahead and cast this damn show so we can put the speculation to rest.

The nerds of color are running a week long marathon of features on how they think marvel should approach iron fist. It's quite interesting especially today's article about casting suggestions

I still love the idea of casting Harry shum. I think he is exactly in keeping of how marvel approach their casting choices (talent + charisma + ability to do comedy)

Wasn't that inspiring of a list other than focusing on race-bending the character to be played by an Asian American actor.

Philip Winchester is still the best choice.

Waiting for the obligatory 'too obvious' response when a white, blonde actor has been suggested to play a white, blonde character. Because, you know, its not thinking 'outside the box' enough etc......

I think Winchester is a good actor, and he's obviously good with the stunts, fighting and action angle. He has experience carrying a hit TV show, he's done a pretty diverse body of work.

No, I just don't find him particularly interesting or charismatic. I can't see him winning over a large audience as a largely unknown character. I've never seen Winchester suggested so he's not really that obvious like if someone suggested say Jensen Ackles. But yeah, maybe I just haven't seen him in enough

I think Phillip Winchester would make a better Moon Knight.
Ryan Hansen i could get on board with, very underrated. I liked him for Barry Allen

Honestly don't find Garrett Hedlund that interesting or charismatic, or Glenn from Walking Dead for that matter.

This is one of those rare roles were I'd prefer the actor cast to actually have a decent background in martial arts. Sure, actors can be taught some moves [and its generally noticeable] but when a characters whole shtick is that they are very, very highly skilled in martial arts, it'd be nice to see the actor portraying that character to be able to pull off a few, complex moves that cannot be faked or simply taught to a 'layperson'.

I understand that, but also keep in mind Daredevil is a very physical, fight heavy role. Obviously, Matt Murdock does a lot of training too. Doubt Cox knew much martial arts before the role.

Here's a possible stunt double for Danny, if they go with the traditional comics version:

The guy has already worked for Marvel. He's good.

But it's more important to have someone who can pull of the emotions, and actually believably act, as opposed to having fighting skills because there's a reason stunt doubles exist.
