That picture's really funny. I recognize a few figures there I have.
Batman Begins, Spider-Man 2, and I almost picked up that V for Vendetta at the mall a couple weeks ago. I may still go back for it, haven't decided.
I did manage to find some Iron Man figures at Toys 'R Us, so I picked up the 12". Very shiny, not too posable, but since 6:1 is what I collect, it will do nicely. It looks great, it's unfortunate it can't do many poses, but for $20 it is excellent.
I was surprised the missiles only shoot out of the right hand. I assumed it'd be both. Hmm.
It's very much an improvement on the Marvel Legends 12" Iron Man. I just could not get into that one at all.
The only thing that struck me as odd was the variety. The entire rack, which wasn't in the aisle, it was a side display, had about 3 of the 12" figures, and then a large number of the Mark III 6" and the variant where you can remove the helmet and other things. Also they had the gun, and some other little knick-knacks (possibly a costume on the top shelf? Wasn't facing forward), but really only the two types of 6" figures.
I was considering getting the Mark I and II in their smaller scale, to keep in the package and just have since I'm sure w/ whatever sequels we get, there'll be an interesting progression I could make... but it looks like I won't be getting them from there.
War Machine looks nice, but I think when they get to him in the films, they'll assuredly put out a 12". He's too much of a fan favorite for them not to.
If it's a character that the fans want in the first movie, but there's no way that this makes chronological sense, you know that he'll get some serious attention later.
Except for the Spider-Man line. But we don't talk about this.
Anyway, good stuff otherwise. Can't wait for the movie.
This has got to be the first time I've picked up a figure before the movie has even come out. I'm really getting into this stuff again, lately.
