No one had any clue as to where this thing was going, yet that unpredictability didn't result in a good movie.

That means a few things: Bad writing, done to death plots, boring characters and too much time reading tvtropes.

That happens when you watch a lot of movies. Tropes tend to be repeated, and some dialogue becomes painfully easy to predict. This goes for every genre from horror to comedy to drama.

So it's not necessarily the sign of a bad movie.
