So...I'm writing a TV show...

One very important thing: Do not get attatched to this project! Do not think of this as your baby. If this is your baby, and you don't want anyone else to handle it, do something else, sell it, and earn enough money where you can produce this project yourself.

Well good luck with you and your "original" idea about a Batman and a villain called the Joker.

How much money would I need to produce this myself?

No need to be rude to the guy.

If I'm to be frank here, the fact that you're on a random message board asking random users how you should go about writing and producing a TV show tells me a lot about where your head is and how you operate.

As some have already suggested, you should be researching this elsewhere. Why ask a group a strangers how to make a TV show when you could find magazines, books, and internet sources that specialize in helping individuals such as yourself reach a goal such as the one you've set.

If you're really serious about wanting to pitch a TV show to a production company, you could always start here.

If you are serious about pitching a TV show, you are first going to need an agent. They have ways of getting you meetings with potential television corporations.

The next thing, is the actual script for the pilot show. You could have other episodes, but it is essential that you have the first episode. A production company is going to want to see this.

Finally, you are going to need a treatment/summary of each episode for the entire first season. If a company is to invest in a television show, it has to have legs. They want to know that the suspense will carry over the entire season.

Having in hand a short summary of the events that would happen in the second and third season could also help.

Remember, you have to have a story for the ENTIRE SERIES, not just the pilot or first few episodes.

Good Luck.

I think everybody from hype and comingsoon.net should all team up and have a 2 episode show that premieres on G4?
