Is the average joe a myth?

Ironically so. Most of them are more average than they realize.

Most people are average with average kids and think their kids are special. They may be special to you, just like your dog is special to you and all that. People are not nearly as remarkable or capable as they think they are. Most think "if THAT were me..." If that were you what? You'd most likely do the same. That is average, that is what will happen the majority of the time.

A lot of people on this board ***** about their "average joe" families and feel they're like some special black sheep or something.

What are you talking about man?! Everyone on the Hype is like a dark poet! They cast off the shackles of their ordinary upbringing, and transcend the boundaries of human knowledge!

Average Joe isn't real. If all the posters on here tried to list the traits that would make an average joe they probably wouldn't all agree.

Everyone has there own little strange quirks. How else can we explain the abundance cat memes and videos on the internet?

Not me. My whole family are a bunch of screwed up black sheep.

The average joe is afraid of eating cat meat in China, but he also wouldn't know it if he was fed cat meat in his "beef"-n-broccoli at some American dive of an oriental restaurant. .

God, I hate "average joe." Another trait; they're ignorant of other cultures. They're allll Amerricuuun!

"I heard dem durn Chineeze eat cats over dere!! Here we eat Budweiser and Cheetos and we speak Americuun!"

And subculture. Is anyone who comes to comic book forum an average Joe? When I think of this term I think house, kids, family, 40 -50 hours a week, sports, and beer.

I come to the forum and have all those thing in my life, other than a wife.

Honestly I think a lot of people who throw around the term "average Joe" in a negative connotation should give this a read.

Not everyone will match the average in every category but in everything there is an average, and it is the idealized approximate average of everything that a lot of things are promoted towards. Its the lowest common denominator. The Walmart of people essentially. The huge popularity of catmemes is actually an example of how homogenized many things can be.

But of course we are superior, we post on the SuperHeroHype forum... :o
