Complete fail. You're in High School. I can understand elementary schools, and that's a stretch... because the kids just shouldn't get recess if it's that ****ing hot outsided, but seriously? High School?

Without A/C, and if it's humid at all, having 20-some people in one room can get ungodly. It's considered a legitimate health hazard if it get into 90-100+, again especially when it gets humid, and trying to get kids to concentrate in those situations is pretty hard anyway.

Also, most districts have to cancel all the schools together, between bussing and union rules and whatever, you can't just close the elementary schools.

Any school that would cancel due to heat, has no AC, or at least doesn't have AC for every room.

I'm working in a stunt show for a theme park at the moment, and they sent the people who walk around in costumes home, but didn't send my cast mates and me home. Not knocking the costume characters, but those costumes don't have a damn thing on the type of work we do in the type of heat we had today.

True, I usually sweat a lot because of the show, but at the end of each show today I was dripping with sweat from everywhere on my body. I can't wrap my head around the logic our managers used when they sent home the costume characters and not us.

For a summer job, I had to wear one of those costumes once and they are very hot. I was working in an airconditioned store and was still sweating, I'd hate to imagine being in the heat. The things have absolutely no ventaltion, so even if there's is a breeze you don't feel it.
