It doesnt appear to mimic other clothes.
It looks like it's just a regular costume.
All Sony said was that Spidey wears black, not a symbiote.

It's like there are people here who simply DON'T want to believe it or are just looking for things to pointlessly speculate on. Give it up. It's the symbiote. Does it have the same abilities and look of the comic symbiote? Maybe not. But are you people surprised by that? I'm not.

How would you know if it mimic's other clothes? You've seen a few inches of the costume while Tobey was waiting on set.

...and in the comics, when the symbiote was just his black costume, all it looked like was a black costume. The difference is, this has webs.

We have pictures of Eddie Brock. We have new pictures of Peter wearing a black Spider-Man costume. It's the symbiote. Personally I always thought the idea of the symbiote turning into street clothes was corny and unnecessary any way. What's the point? So Peter doesn't have to buy new clothes ever again as long as he keeps the symbiote around? I love the direction they seem to be going in with it. It's more believable.

Exactly. We've got Eddie Brock. He's a reporter. We've got the symbiote. It possesses. We've got a church. Eddie will likely get the symbiote there.

Really, that's pretty darn accurate (despite some physical changes).
