Given the TASM series may end after the third Spidey film, they may recast Peter's role, put the property on the side for a short period of time, or reboot the property AGAIN. However, is there a possibility that they may peak audience interest by reuniting the original cast and crew from Raimi's films for one major on-screen reunion? What would you think if this were to happen? And is it likely or possible?

Possible but highly, highly unlikely. And this is coming from the guy petitioning for an extended cut of SM3 7 years later lol.

Isn't a 4th "Amazing" film already being developed? Sony are going to try hard to hang on to this universe they're building, and there will be a good few years worth of new films in this series. When Garfield steps down, I see no reason why they'd go back. They'd want to find someone young and eager and cheap.

Nope, at this point it would probably hurt the film in the box office even more, they shouldn't have rebooted in the first place.

Well never say never. I mean look at Bryan Singer. He came back to the X-Men franchise 10 years after he left it. I know it's slightly different there because the X-Men franchise has always been based on the continuity of the movie universe he set up. But you get my point.

Personally though I think the Raimi ship has sailed. I'd love to see him come back, and if he ever did it won't be with his original cast. At least not Tobey or Kirsten. They can always still use J.K. Simmons and Rosemary Harris.

I'd like to see an adaptation of Shattered Dimensions.

The closest we could get to a Raimi Spidey return is if the character appears in "Spider-Verse" but I doubt it.

Anything is possible, but I wouldn't count on it.

I would jump for joy if it did happen though.

Give it back to Marvel, let them continue doing it the way it was. The right way.

I'd love to see Sam Raimi to come back and help with the "Amazing" series

Speak for yourself.

Anyway, would it happen. No. Could Raimi direct a Spidey flick, unlikely but it could happen.

Hear hear

Speak for yourself.

He is speaking for himself. Do you specify you're speaking for yourself in every post you make?

Yes, when I give an opinion. The "speak for yourself" was aimed at the Marvel thing. I see people say how "great" these propertys would be if they were given back to Marvel. Completly forgetting that
A) It makes 0 sense for Sony. Are people really expecting Sony to just hand over their most valuable property?
B) Not every thing Marvel has done has been popular. Look at The Mandarin or Ultron's origin in A2.

Spider-Man 4 will not happen. That ship sailed a long, long time ago. Raimi could always come back to direct a Spidey film or a spin off.

Popular or not, the filmmakers have been able to let it make sence.

What if he came back and the movie wasn't that great?

Why does everyone assume SM4 would've matched SM2 in quality?

Maybe Raimi was running out of ideas for decent a Spider-man movie. People get burned out creatively after a while.

One of the mods (I think it was Spider-Fan) said it best, two's a trend.

I think SM3 was an anomoly and SM4 would have been great. That being said, I'm glad it ended up not happening as the reboots gave us some great stuff too

There's no way of knowing if SM4 would've matched SM2.

It's a grand assumption at best.

I don't want to go off topic (we havn't seen Age Of Ultron yet even lol).

This thread is pointless, even more pointless than my ancient thread bumps. ASM4 will come out in 2018, may not even a total recast. Garfield is in talks for multi-picture deal that'll bag him around $60 million. They are not building up a universe to just knock it down and bring back the old one which has not got as much sequel potental.

I know, i meant the Mandarin twist
We can talk about that some other time, not here. C.Lee is cracking down hard on these parts.

I did not mind a twist, I am quite open minded. I just felt the execution was not so great.

No you don't. Show me five posts you've made in the last week where you've specified you're speaking for yourself.

1. What has that got to do with someone thinking the movies would be better off if they went back to Marvel?

2. The Mandarin is the only valid example you have, and it's not even a huge controversial one at that either. Nobody has seen Avengers 2 yet, so wait until you see reactions to the movie before you declare it unpopular.

That's a head shaker right there. If you followed the production you'd know it didn't end because anyone ran out of ideas, raimi wasn't allowed to push him film back 2012 and he didn't think the current script was up to par. Sony didn't think the vulture was bankable and felt the lizard was "too bizzare". I'm just happy people these days are done trying to claim he was "forced out" or that there was some kind of conspiracy in the works to ditch raimi.

So it was a guarantee that Raimi would've matched one of his best movies?

Much easier said than done.
