What do y'all think of these old House show matches?:

Shawn Michaels vs Goldust for the WWE Title:

Bret Hart vs Owen Hart in a 60 min match:

[YT]uZVNXGAU2XA[/YT]

Bret Hart vs Randy Savage for the WWF Title:
[YT]QKL_CYbl7bE[/YT]

Shawn Michaels vs Vader:

I'm still blown away by how good Day 1 of the G1 was. The first Day and it was probably the best show of 2014 I've seen. FIRST DAY and you had like 4 great matches. This year's tourney is gonna be a good one. :D

AJ Styles vs. Kazuchika Okada is one of my top 10 matches of the year so far. Dat guardrail spot tho!

Seriously, I'm sitting down watching some old school house show matches and man, that Bret Hart vs Macho Man title match I linked above.....That should have lead to a title feud on TV with a big payoff at Summerslam 94 or something. Those two had pretty good chemistry in that match despite only having 21 minutes.

I never pegged Macho for being one to chain wrestle despite how good of a worker he was overall but he adapted to it well. This could have drew big time as a feud for Mania 11 or Summerslam 94.

Togi nearly broke Goto's jaw....AGAIN.

It's not his fault Goto's face is a magnet for arms. It's like John Cena's dad with fists.

Listening to Young Bucks and Ricochet on Anderson's newest podcast.

John Cena's dad also attracts boots to faces. I'm certain that he shivers whenever he sees a Punt Kick in Football.

SummerSlam '94's title match was fantastic though. If anything they should have turned Savage heel during the build up to WrestleMania X with Hart going in as champion and a storyline playing up Randy's real-life issues with being pulled from the ring and put behind the announce desk.

Oh my, that would have been GOLD!!, A feud like this would have quickly killed the "didnt draw" stigma surrounding Bret at the time too. This would have required a differently booked Wrestlemania 9 considering how things would get booked back then to really work too.

That would have been a bonafide classic though.

Yeah Bret would have to beat Yoko at WrestleMania IX. Imagine Savage going nuts and attacking Jack Tunney or something.

G1 matches I'm most looking forward too.

Kojima/Ishii
Honma/Nagata

Tanahashi/Shibata

Night 5:

Tanahashi/Fale
Honma/Nakamura
Naito/Okada

Night 6:

Kojima/Shibata
Tanahashi/Ishii

Night 7:

Honma/Fale
Suzuki/Styles
Nakamura/Ishii

Night 8:

Honma/Shibata

For Night 2, I actually wanna see Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. I liked Davey Boy Jr's showing last year. But I'm pretty much the same with the rest of the matches. Shibata/Tanahashi should be a war.

That would have been instant heel heat for that feud....Fans would have reacted as if Macho was the biggest jerk on the planet and been fully behind Bret Hart.

#BUYS

Then imagine how crazy Dave Meltzer would have went over that match too :funny: Nonetheless, these were the type of feuds Bret needed when he was carrying the ball and it's a shame he didnt get him. He could have defeated a heel savage in a classic and then went on to do a face vs face feud with Hulk Hogan for the title.

I'm very interested in seeing this new Nation of Domination type angle play out,Especially if it means Kofi finally turning heel in wwe

OK decent house show match between Vader and Shawn...slightly better than the Summerslam 96 match and funny seeing Stone Cold come out to stunner Shawn and leave just for Sid to rescue him when Vader was about to decimate him with the Vader Bomb

Hogan was out of WWF by 1994 but the face vs face match should have been at KOTR 1993, with a heel winning the tournament and facing Hart after he beat Hogan.

Oh even better...If only you could have booked the WWE back then or maybe even now lol. Seriously, if it went down that way, Bret's stock as champion would have went up huge and it would have been a big way to symbolize the changing of the guard at the time.

Bret would have beat Hogan, earned his kayfabe respect and then went on to face a heel Macho Man at Mania X...that would have been an epic reign for Bret if anything.

Excellent house show match between Shawn Michaels and Goldust back in 96..Even though Goldust wasnt moving like he does these days he helped put on a great match. Then the post match spot had Shawn get incapacitated by Mankind's mandible claw and then Taker came in to clean house of Mankind and Goldust

Wow...Bret has apparently done more than one 60 minute Marathon/Iron Man in his WWF career

- The one with Shawn Michaels in Anaheim at Mania 12 in 1996

- A house show Iron Man match against Ric Flair at Boston Gardens in 1993

- Another house show Iron Man match against Owen Hart at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island during 1994.

Makes me wish there were Iron man Matches between him and Stone Cold, Mr.Perfect, Macho Man, and Ricky Steamboat were somewhere to be found.

Anyway, thoughts on these matches?
