There are some Tony Scott films I enjoy, especially Enemy of the State and Man on Fire. And I'm definitely looking forward to Deja Vu. But I HATED, ABSOLUTELY HATED Domino, and it's hard for me to HATE a movie (I'm sure there are movies I haven't seen that I'll probably hate, but that's why I don't see the pieces of s**t), but Domino was such an infuriating mess, I couldn't believe it. There was so much wrong with that movie, beginning with the casting of Keira Knightley. Slim Jim's are tougher than she was in that movie!

I agree completely. Even worse about Domino was all the choppy editing and flashy crap Tony Scott tried to do with his final cut of it. It made an already weak and fairly uninteresting story incomprehensible and about gave me a friggin' epileptic seizure. I HATED that movie like I haven't hated a movie in a really long time. But, I really enjoyed "Enemy Of The State" and "Man On Fire". I even enjoyed "True Romance" to a lesser extent.

Hey, have you ever heard of a movie called "Spy Game"? Supposedly Tony Scott directed it. Was it any good? No one's mentioned it, yet, so I was wondering if you knew anything abou it.

I can't believe the lack of love for True Romance :csad:

The only Tony Scott movie Ive liked so far is Man on Fire. I couldnt even finish Domino.

I've seen a few of his movie's like Domino(which i own),Man on fire and enemy of the state.

Man on Fire is one of my top ten favorite movies, and I love True Romance too. Enemy of the State was pretty damn good too.

True Romance is one of my favorite movies. It's one of the finest crime thrillers I've ever seen. The acting, the script and everything about it is top notch. Definitely in my Top 10. So, ergo, yeah, from what I've seen, I like Tony Scott.

I can't make much more of an opinion on him because I haven't checked out most of his other work. I have heard a lot of good things about Man On Fire, so I might check it out.

I don't like his work either. The Last Boy Scout was god-awful. If I weren't drunk I think I could not have wathced 'til the end. Top Gun is stupid. Spy Game and Man on Fire were too confusing. And the latter too long. I usually like long movies, but this one didn't work. Days of Thunder, The Fan and Enemy of the State were entertaining but nothing else.

True Romance is the only excpetion. I dig it. I think the reason is found in the script.

Tony Scott is one of those directors who makes enough movies where most of them suck but every once and a while something decent comes along.

And Gladiator is as overrated as Braveheart. Ridley seems like he has become one of those people who is too busy chasing an oscar to actually make a great movie, which he is capable of.

Look at Scorsese. The Departed has easily trumped every other movie this year, and is way better than gangs of new york or the Aviator. Both which weren't bad, just made for all the wrong reasons.

but back on Tony. Top Gun sucks so bad.

I've only seen Man on Fire, Enemy of the State, and Domino from Tony Scott. Of those, I loved Man on Fire and Enemy of the State. Maybe not great movies, really fun, enjoyable movies.

Domino was, of course, pretty much utter crap. I can only guess because of Scott over enduging his love for "cool" editing. Tricks he did fantastically in EOTS and MOF, he completely overdoes and ruins in Domino.

Overall, I actually really like him as a director. His style, at least. I think I even prefer it to Ridley's.

The only Tony Scott movie I've seen is True Romance and I really like it. But I'm also a big Quentin Tarantino fan.

i thought domino chugged cock, but i am looking forward to deja vu with denzel.

Yeah, Deja Vu looks pretty cool. I'll definitely be seeing that in the theater.

Didn't he also direct Beverly Hills Cop 2....with Red Sonja? I like that a back in the day.

But I can't stand Scott's style. But I usually like his more...subdued movies. The ones with only a 50 quick edits a scene instead of 100
