Not in Durham isn't...I have been robbed at gunpoint twice.

Where I live, I could walk down the street no problem.

I live out in the boonies. I could leave my car unlocked with cash sitting on the front seat and still find it there the next morning.

But I always lock the front house door. You never know, haha.

That said, there was a rape down the road the other month, but I can always walk around Sheffield any time of day or night without feeling unsafe.

It's pretty safe, until you get a few miles away (Ocean View)
Then you gotta watch you back.

I live in a city with a population of 348,000 or so... we have a rather large number of guncrimes, actually. Over our Canadian Thanksgiving, I think, some guy walked right into the centre of downtown and shot 4 people.

That said, no, I don't really feel safe late at night downtown or in the surrounding slums, but I don't really care. If I have somewhere to go, I'll go there.

I don't have to worry about a thing. All Old people live in my town. i think there more afraid of me mugging them then anything.

I'm not too scared of Miami. I just wont go to Little Havana or Little Haiti except during the day time and only certain places that tend to get more people who don't live in the neighborhood(tourist type spots). Places like Liberty City I'll avoid completely, and I won't go out at night unless I'm driving. I'll take public transportation during the day though.

Where I live isn't the safest place in the world but I'm certainly not afraid to walk down the street. If I get robbed or jumped than that's just what happens but if I'm going to be a scared little girl about leaving my house than what's the point of living in that area?

A guy got shot last week across from my work.
A guy got shot in the same area a few months ago.
A guy got stabbed while walking a block from my house late at night where I've walked late at night a million times to get wine after the liquor store closes.
Then I read an article confirming that random/gang-related violence has gone way and steadily up here since 2004 and they don't know why.

Yep, I love where I live. I mean, my house is facing a busy street but I love walking through the side streets behind my house. At night. It's nice other than the sound my steps make in the snow.
